The finale for Genis felt a little rushed right at the end, or perhaps it was just predictable.
Naria....oy. I thought she got trashed last episode, but just to twist that little knife more they had to make the betrayal piece as well. I don't know if it was necessary, but since Genis' suit was so bulky, all he can really do is flail his arms around. I'm sure there are other series, but I can't remember the last time they all got to keep their powers, and have the happy ending. That's gonna lead in for a lot of crossovers in the future without having to fudge the getting their powers back troupe. For a series that really oversimplified some elements of the Sentai, and also made a lot of predictable steps, it's not the worst they could have done. Decent character development, and aside from some bland acting on the part of Watanabe (Tusk), even the enemies were not boring. Also, a final power up suit for Yamato? That was surprising. So as we say goodbye to Dobutsu Sentai Minecraft all I can say is that I eagerly await the new series with lots of excitement.

I think the revelation about Genis should've come a little sooner. I think if the Azald/Yamato's father episodes happened at the early 40's so that around 43-48 could be dedicated completely to Genis, it would've flowed a lot faster.
As a whole, though, I really enjoyed the series. The villains were a misstep, but they didn't disappoint me as much as most of Gingaman's villains. |

Yeah, the fight felt really rushed as they tried to tie up as many loose ends about Genis as they could. not to mention the constant fight-beaten-powerup/motivation-fight-etc. But it still felt pretty energized, and I'm not exactly disappointed in how it ended.
Zyuland and Earth fusing back together was a twist I did not see coming, though, and it did feel kind of heartwarming seeing everyone reconnect with their families (why did they have to hold on that shot of Sela and her sister hugging through a green screen effect though!? Like seriously, GAH!). Plus seeing zyumen and humans interacting was kind of fun. Overall, while not perfect, it was a fitting end to a pretty intense series. To me, it had the right blend of character interactions and hot-blooded action that makes me kind of miss it, yet at the same time want to see where Super Sentai will be going with Kyuranger.

I'm so sad this one is over. I felt that it was a huge improvement over Ninninger. All of the characters were great, and the story was solid all around. The stuff with Yamato and his dad was very interesting despite it being thrown in at the last minute. The series as a whole was great. It was always something I looked forward to watching every week despite some of its issues. It was a consistently good show from start to finish and I cannot wait to see them again in the team up movie with Kyuranger.

I liked it!
Was it completely conventional, familiar, cliched, and predictable? As with everything Zyuohger, the answer is yes. But as usual, the show's mix of sincerity, strong casting, and confident execution overshadowed all of that. Final Series Assessment: Zyuohger was a super solid show that broke zero boundaries. It luxuriated in cliche, but it did so with an exuberance that made every episode a joy to watch. I'd compare Zyuohger to a super premium vanilla ice cream. It has no interesting flavors or exciting crunchy bits, but it's made with the highest quality ingredients around. So even though it's super basic, it's still delicious, and it especially rewards vanilla ice cream connoisseurs. The show barely squeaks into my Top 10 Sentai list, falling at #9 -- one spot ahead of Ohranger, and just behind ToQger. |

If I were to put Zyuoh in my rankings, it would probably be round 18.

I'd rank it around 6th, to be quite honest.
I don't know what kind of jaw dropping Super Sentai you guys have seen, but so many Sentai I've seen has either been painfully bland or just bad. Zyuohger did the one thing that a lot of shows have had a hard time doing: Remain entertaining. It didn't bring anything new to the table that we haven't seen before, but what it did bring was well constructed and the flaws were easily overlooked because the rest of the presentation was so well done.

I would rank it at 5 it had a lot of plot and the final was perfect except for the mecha battle which was rush.
Overall this was a perfect Sentai for a 40th a very good leader Yamato was a serious Red that made this Sentai very enjoyable. The final battle against Genis was really good and show what Genis was made out of. Ginis being nothing more than an evolved mass of Meba is something pretty different. Him hating the fact of his own existence puts a nice little spin on it. |

I have seen very little Sentai and with this being the first that I actually got to see from start to finish I have to say its alright. As some have said it doesn't really do anything amazing or at least if it does it is very little and forgotten. Plus the villain plots were badly paced. Still I do not regret it and I am sad to see it go. Now lets hope we can all be sad at this time next year for when Kyuranger ends.

- Given how much the series has banged on about how everything is connected, I actually quite like how the team wins the fight because the Earth itself basically wills it to happen. Don't mess with this planet indeed. I guess it's a little deus ex machina, but it's all good.

For the record, I think there's some subtle but significant differences to how Zyuohger and Ghost approached the whole connections thing. Although given how Drive picked up a strong undercurrent of "family" during its back half, while Ninninger was airing, I find it strange that this is twice in a row Sentai and Rider have had matching themes. It's probably just a coincidence but, man, what a big coincidence.
