10 episode update.
V3 has indeed been excellent. Shiro himself is great, and the show is fun. What I love most has to be its structure, though. Two-parters are very rare in Showa, so the fact that they are the norm in V3 makes it stand out quite a bit. Moreover, I love the fact that this isn't just to prolong how long they can use a single monster, but actually have two involved in the stories in various capacities. This is legitimately the greatest thing. The main problem with Showa series is that they can get monotonous, so in other series two-parters and stories with multiple monsters were a rare and welcome treat. V3 incorporating these things as a matter of course is honestly something I had never considered could happen. It never gets boring, and that's fantastic. My only gripe at this point would be that the action feels a little floaty at times, but eh. It's no biggie. (This statement would be equally true if I'd chosen to watch V3 before RX, but) I chose a good series to leave for last. |

That's cool, gives me something to look forward to. The 2 parters in 'W' were one of the things I really liked about it.
...it also contributed to a lot of binge watching. ("One more episode, ok..one more episode.") I'm about 1/4 or 1/3'rd of the way through Kamen Rider v1 and there's been a couple 2 parters like the Caterpillar man in pt1 becomes the Mothman in pt2. I miss Hongo though and am slowly getting used to Hayato,...but there's a certain smugness to Hayato while Hongo was just...angry and cool. I read Hongo comes back somewhere around episode 40 I think. So that's neat and I'm looking forward to it. But I've been looking forward to V3 also, so it's neat to know it has 2 parters like 'W' does. ....I'm biased because 'W' was the first Kamen Rider series I completely finished start to finish, but I think it's brilliant. 'W' turned me from an Ultra fan who casually watched Kamen Rider episodes here and there, into an actual Kamen Rider fan. Last edited by KaijuUltraFan; 10-27-2017 at 03:25 PM.. |

Yeah, the 2-monster 2-parters were V3's standard structure for the first part of the series. It changes things up around the time the first Destron general shows up, iirc.
Fun game for V3: one of the Destron mook hoods has rounded eye details instead of pointed ones. It was based off of the original design for the costume, but the mask was changed during development and only one hood was made off of the original design. You'll see it show up in fight scenes during at least the first half of the series. I always tried to spot the different hood during the mook battles. |

SkyRider Episode 36-37: It's the Nigou/SkyRider crossover episode. I really enjoyed these episodes. Hiroshi has great chemistry with all the riders so far. Nigou and him were both kick ass and awesome against NeoShocker. I enjoyed them solving the mystery of the Village, and their fights against the two monsters. SkyRider they seemed to have added more horror/creepy elements with the plans the monsters come up with, and it's an interesting change to the show. That explosion at the end/beginning sure didn't do anything to SkyRider and Sky Turbo lol. I can't wait for more and can't wait for Shigeru and Hiroshi to team up again.

27 episodes into Kamen Rider Blade so far. Decided to watch it after hearing Tokucast call it a great show that takes a while to get going... and I have to agree. It took a bit too long to explain the backstory behind everything but now said backstory is being explained it's become a lot more interesting.
Will be starting on Episode 28 next, right in the middle of the Mutsuki vs. Shima battle.

I've been making my way through the 99 episodes of Kamen Rider v1. But last night I thought for a change of pace I'd watch just the first episode of Amazons,..just to see something a little newer and HD.
Oof,...5 episodes later......hahaha Amazons is really good. It was hard to stop because each episode was so good and sort of ended on a cliffhanger. plus each episode had some kind of jaw dropping moment where The Rider stomped someone's skull into the ground, or tore someone in half. Just...wow. What a show! Going to watch more tonight, I've been thinking about it all day. |

after episode 4,..I can't even imagine HOW! hahaha
Episode 4 the rooftop battle with The Queen and all her minions,..I mean..wow, that was just ruthless in so many ways. The scene of that one minion getting ripped in half the long way and his body halves separating in two different directions just floored me. I wouldn't want every series of The Rider to be this dark and gory,..(I love 'W' for it's kitsch and humor),..but I am very much enjoying the darkness and gore of this one series. |

yeah the flying leap that ended with an Amazon foot landing on Batmans skull and crushing it was the first real, "HOLY CRAP!" moment for me.
