So every now and then I see the Samurai Megazord on shelves. The fact that the origami aspect is left out makes me die a li- A LOT. Is there any redeeming factor for the Samurai Megazord? Bandai Japan's ShinkenOh looks like it kicks this things ass.
Was thinking the limbs might look cool with that transforming eggbot thing that the red ranger comes with. |

I actually perfer the American Shinken-oh, it has WAY better thighs than his BOJ counterpart. sure he doesn't have the origami modes or the nice chrome, but the better proportions and price make up for it.
highly recommended along with the clawzord

I see the American version and then having the Japanese version in hand, I have to say that I much prefer the Japanese version, having the Origami mode means a lot to me since it was an important part of the show. The downside is that finding the rest of the components like Ebi and ox cart at a reasonable price is near impossible.

The lack of Origami modes is definitely a downside, but it makes up for it with much better proportions. Yeah, it's no Shinken-Oh, but it's a third of the price, and, for whatever reason, feels like a playable toy, rather than a fragile statue.

I didn't buy one, but did play with one when TRU did that Samurai demo in summer. Was ok, really wish they had the origami modes.

Eh, I think I'm just gonna save up for the SRC someday.

While I really like the proportions on the Samurai Megazord, I'm with Matrix Soul on this. A lack of origami modes is one hell of a deal breaker for me.
The SRC is amazing too. Small, but brilliant in every other way. I just wish they'd brought out some of the attachments for it.

ShinkenOh has so much more playability than its US counterpart, plus the paint detailing outshines the Samurai Megazord by far. Aside from being able to change into origami modes, ShinkenOh and the auxialley mecha are bigger in size than the Samurai versions Meaning the scale on the US zords to the aux zords are all off, so the Tenku buster comes up short.
While the Samurai Megazord is an alright version, if you want the full experience, try to hunt down ShinkenOh, you won't be disappointed...unless you're not into 11 Mecha brick combiners.. |

Decent.
For a costed down ShinkenOh, he isn't that bad. But he does reek of when Power Rangers was gonna continue as a toy only franchise. The upswing in quality with the latter two Megazords kind if shows this.
