And a new K-touch with a few extra cards, that's neat!
Otherwise, um. Yeah. For all your saying that you just don't know what to say about this, thank you for putting to words what I couldn't. This special is just so empty and rubbish and... nothing, man. I said before about Gridon & Bravo that that special feels like something both no-one was asking for and no-one cared to write, and I still believe that; but it is in absolute hyperdrive for this one. I think what frustrates me most is that the trailers promised something absolutely CRAZY, and had such an amazing energy to them -- 7 Sougos! Decade Complete 21! Onodera's back! Explosions around Ohma Zi-O taking on Kivala and Diend! Bravo and Sigurd's actors are here, for some reason! And I wasn't expecting it to be good, is the thing. Based on Inoue's track record with Zi-O and his 'adult'-aimed contributions to Rider in general, there was never any chance of that. But I was at least expecting to be entertained on some level. And then Onodera isn't our Onodera, Kivala and Diend just sort of jump out a portal to die in under a minute with no interaction with Tsukasa, the 7 Sougos thing is some lame competition where Tsukasa's killing them for some reason and they don't even have a fun scene of 7 base Zi-O suits ganging up on Ohma, and all Complete 21 does is punch some Inves. Thanks, guys.

Both of these mini-series was UTTER GARBAGE. I’m insulting Garbage to make a point- absolutely an abortion of an idea that NEVER should have been made.
Christonnacrutch it’s SO BAD, I honestly never seen a Tokusatsu show so badly done since the 1970’s. Wow these movies are terrible |

Honestly, like, where do you go from here? Tsukasa dies alone, not even by Sougo's side and Ohma lost because he looked at Tsukuyomi too much. |

Well if what Woz says has any weight to it, we'll probably be seeing both again sometime.

So I actually enjoyed both of these specials and how they intertwined here. I think this is a pretty appropriate place to leave Zi-O's story for now.
Some people aren't convinced by Oma Zi-O's easy defeat but there are definitely some important factors to consider. Tsukasa mentioned that the True Sougo was weakened after using a lot of his power to overwrite the timeline, so he isn't the same omnipotent Oma Zi-O anymore. And since the TV show timeline he's from didn't have any new Riders after the Day Of Oma, it makes sense that Sougo A could use the power of Saber to defeat him since it's the same thing that happened with Trinity, using a power from a timeline where Oma Zi-O never existed. It's pretty dark to consider what happened to the True Sougo though. Sougo A didn't lose his memories cause those memories never belonged to him. He was just a creation of his former self like all those other Sougos. True Sougo continued to exist in isolation and madness outside time after creating that world, instead of being overwritten. So he did end up becoming the most evil overlord but only cause he was insane and lonely, which reminds me of how Kessler became who he was. I guess Sougo A basically borrowed those memories for Reiwa First Generation, allowing him to temporarily become True Sougo, which explains the gold clock before his offscreen fight with Zero One. But not the real True Sougo, more like an imitation of him. Pseudo-True Sougo. Add it to the list. I like how this feels more Zi-O than Next Time Geiz Majesty, which followed the story of an unfamiliar world and characters that I wasn't invested in. Decade VS Zi-O and Zi-O VS Decade bring it back to its original weird status quo and I appreciate that. It's still in an unfamiliar world but the consequences of the previous timeline can still be felt in their reverberations and with Swartz and Ora getting their Time Jacker powers back (including Another Decade while original Decade gets erased until his next appearance), it seems like this world is set to become more authentic. I'm sure Tsukasa will be fine. Sougo B and Misa survived and now I want a V-Cinema focused on that Sougo. He's the coolest Sougo. Or Woz or SOUGO. Any of those characters would be great to explore as this world finally moves forward out of 2018/2019 and in to the future, unless this really is the end of Zi-O content, which is fine since that still leaves it in a pretty good direction.

This was very much where my expectations going in were at too. I had a blast with those Kiva episodes of Zi-O despite them being... them, and yet this was such a drag to get through.

The side plot involving Sougo and the fishing boy was the best part of this special. The end of that side plot had a way more satisfying conclusion than both specials.

This was the best part of the special for me and admittedly something I would have liked to have seen more of in Zi-O — Sougo actually taking on a leadership role and being there for people; including ones who are lonely and overlooked. It really puts actions to his words of being a king

If I could say three nice things about this special:
- The subplot about Sougo bonding with that kid was absolutely the best part, and exactly what I was talking about when I said Inoue writes a solid enough Sougo. He's a guy all about going with the flow, and can be surprisingly sensitive and understanding because of that. Kurona's last post right above directly contradicts this, but a lot of my favorite moments from Sougo in the show were just him being a super chill, caring friend, and this was a microcosm of that. He's like a more perky Yuusuke/less smothering Gentarou, and I love that about him. - I remember reading a random YouTube comment when this thing first got announced and we saw pictures of the Saber Decade Armor that went something like "I'm just glad to know the Heisaber's doing okay", and whenever I start feeling like this special was without purpose, I think of those words and feel like it was all worth it. - I kinda dig Tsukuyomi's surprisingly healthy post-series career as a Kamen Rider? Like, for all the jokes that can be cracked about her role in the last two episodes, they're keep putting her in stuff as just one of the gang now, and it's a nice feeling. Not bad for a character I'm pretty sure I described as a plank of wood on at least one occasion!
