Let's post our indecisive thoughts, and have the community help us out.
So I'm inching through Ryuki, and I have become absolutely enamored with Knight's design. So what I decided was, pick up a figure or two from Ryuki. Problem is, I have options, and I'm an indecisive fellow. And I'm not rich and/or mentally impaired enough to pick them all up. So here's my situation: -I want an articulated Ryuki and Knight -My choices appear to be Dragon Knight Figmas or Ryuki Figuarts -I'd like to keep as close to, if not lower than $100 for both -Knight is higher priority than Ryuki (IE: Ruyki should cost as much or less) -Don't exactly care about contract monsters -I own a couple of Figuarts (Kamen Rider and Sentai), and only one Figma (Yui Hirasawa from K-ON!) -Photo-friendliness is an advantage I've seen some reviews for both the Figmas and Figuarts, but I really can't come to a decision. Any and all help, recommendations and warnings will be appreciated and taken into consideration. Last edited by Brainchild; 01-15-2012 at 12:45 PM.. |

Figuarts Zolda. Preorder at this point, but hard to refuse a Rider with that many large guns.

The Figma can be more limited, do to their joints being covered. I'd say the Figuarts since they give more bang for the buck (Last time I checked, they're around the same price.), and fit in better with those Figuarts you say you have.

Between sculpting, detail, and accessory count, Ryuki and Knight are easily two of the best Figuarts ever. I think the only reason to get the Figmas would be if you're really strapped for cash (even then, Knight and Ryuki shouldn't run you more than the $100 limit you have)

Unless you can grab the Figma for under 1000 yen, I'd say go for the Figuarts. Granted, the contract monsters aren't high on your priority, but they both still offer the best bang for your buck, especially Ryuki. Especially since he's been re-issued.
That said, you might be able to find a Figma Knight for cheap on the secondary market. This being due to a) the Figuarts release devaluing him and b) a massive stock dump of the Figma Dragon Knight devaluing the entire Figma line-up as a whole. Toy quality wise, the general consensus is that Figuarts is the better line. Although if you're a Figma collector, you'll have the option of easy customization, as parts swapping is a breeze. And Figma usually come with more accessories than Figuarts (although most of these are girly accessories like school shoes, school bags and tea cups). |

Alright, thanks for the help. I think I've pretty much settled on the Figuarts, then. Only problem now is to find somewhere to get them from.

Quote:
Figma Dragon Knight: hands, Dragvisor, Sword Vent, Strike Vent, Guard Vents, and a Final Vent card, basic stand. Figuarts Ryuki: more hands, opening Dragvisor that can hold cards, Strike Vent, all Advent Cards, a Tamashii stand with three full arms, and Sword and Guard Vents that can be stored on the body of Dragreder. Figma Wing Knight: hands, Darkvisor, Sword Vent, Final Vent card, cloth cape with inevitably breaking wire for articulation, basic stand. Figuarts Knight: more hands, opening Darkvisor that can hold cards, attachabled hip holster for the Darkvisor, full Advent Card deck, Sword Vent with long and short handles, Darkwing contract monster that can store the Sword Vent and connect to Knight's back to be either wings or his Guard Vent, a plastic but still beautifully sculpted and articulated cape, the corkscrew cape assembly to recreate Knight's Final Vent, and a Tamashii stand. Even Ouja, who doesn't have a monster of effect parts, still has at least the functional Venovisor and multiple cards. There is no way outside of price that the Figmas can outdo the Figuarts - and even there it's only because you're paying for less. |

Perhaps we could use this thread for people who are indecisive about purchases?
