I wrote up a fanfic recently and decided I'd share here. Essentially, the idea behind this is that I wanted to make my own Wizard "movie" which features some fanmade Riders of mine. Your responses will fuel this, as I'll wait for, at the very least, one post that is not my own before I post the next part.
This story mainly features Kastelle, a female mage, who's come across Wizard by chance and tells him of Kibohoshi, the school of wizardry, which had recently been destroyed by an unknown Phantom. Wizard intends to stop this Phantom before it can kill anymore innocent victims. So, with all that said, it's show time. --------------------------------------------------------------- Once, magic was as real as anything else in the world, but with the coming of technology it has faded into obscurity as a lost art. Many people today have magic in them - they are known as Gates. One man, a modern magic-user by the name of Haruto Soma, is the only thing stopping the Phantoms, an ancient monster race born from despairing Gates, from achieving the goal of creating a new Sabbath. It was a quiet day at Vestige Hall, the antique shop where Haruto resided. He was only just waking up, after having dealt with Phantom activity the previous day. A bell could be heard lightly resounding in the shop as a customer entered the shop. She was a young woman, dressed in short clothes for the summer and carrying a hefty looking bookbag to her side. She looked around curiously. The only person here, it seemed, was a girl with long black hair sitting behind a windowed wall - She was Koyomi, a girl that Haruto has taken care of during his time as a mage. At the moment, she seemed to be too distracted to help with customers. The owner, Shigeru Wajima, made his way to the entrance to greet her. He was a kind looking old man, short and portly, perhaps a little jittery but almost always carrying a genuine smile when dealing with customers. "Oh, good morning - What can I help you with, ma'am?" Wajima smiled. "Good morning," She gave a light smile and bowed her head. "I was wondering if you happened to have anything like a chest to store lots of jewelry." She took a look around. "I love the look of vintage things, they have such history." Wajima chuckled, "As do I. But a chest, hm..." He pondered, wondering if they had anything. "How about this?" The girl happened to come across a black box of considerable size, with silver and gold metal surrounding it. "This is just about the size I'd need!" "Oh, n-no, that's not for sale." Wajima stuttered, rushing over to her before she could open it. "That's actually something that a friend made for me, heheh." He lied, giving a smile. It was actually a chest containing much of Haruto's magic rings, which he used to fight the Phantoms. "Yo," Haruto yawned, entering the room. He was brushing down his hair with his hand, not being fully aware of the customer. "Oh - Hey." He raised a hand to the girl. "Hello," She greeted, "Are you one of the employees here?" "Kind of." Haruto smirked. "That's Haruto, he's, uh, living here for the time being." Wajima spoke up. "I see," The girl nodded, "I'm Aimi Hanako." "Haruto." Koyomi spoke up to Haruto. "Mm?" Haruto looked over to her. "Now then," Wajima spoke up to get Aimi's attention, "I think I might have something in the back if you'd be interested, now that I know exactly what you're looking for in terms of scale." "That's great, sure." Aimi accepted. "I'm off," Haruto stated after leaving Koyomi's side. "I've got something to take care of. Take care," He gave a quick salute to Aimi as he walked away. That's when she saw it - In his left hand, there gleamed a noticeable ring of silver with a large, red gem in the center. It was something she could only see for no more than a second, but it was ornate in such a way, and it was on his left hand - it couldn't be coincidence. "How's this?" Wajima returned with a small chest. It was a bit dusty and worn, but about the size of the one she eyed. Aimi finally took her attention away from the entrance Haruto just walked out from to look back at Wajima, "Oh, that looks nice, actually! How much?" Haruto rode off on his motorcycle - One of his familiars, the mechanical companions that mages use to survey large areas, was on patrol when it spotted a new Phantom at a nearby resort. Koyomi, who had been intently watching her crystal ball, was able to catch the Phantom as it was showing up, so he could only hope that any Gates in the area could be spared. When Haruto arrived at the resort, the moment he pulled his motorcycle over and its engine come to a halt, all he could hear is panic in the area; The Phantom was attacking. He removed his motorcycle helmet and summoned his belt to transform. [WATER - Please!] Haruto runs through the spell circle summoned before him to transform into Wizard. As he makes it inside, he sees just what a mess the Phantom has made of the area. Furniture broken, tables thrown off to the side, and the people who weren't running were laying on the ground bleeding. But what he wasn't prepared for was the sight of the Phantom looping over one of the people, presumably a Gate, and being drained of his mana. Wizard used the Connect ring to summon his SwordGun and shoot the Phantom. It finally noticed he was in the room and turned its head his way - It was an ugly one. Its head was reminiscent of some sort of horned animal skull. Its mouth, red with blood, and its body covered in various bits of bone and fur. It let its sharp claws leave the chest of the man it was feasting on the mana of, then stood, assuming a hunched stance as it grumbled silently, almost observing Wizard. "Quite a mess you've made. Leave the Gate alone." Wizard said, approaching the monster with gun still pointed. The Phantom let out a scream of terror and started to run at Wizard. When he tried to shoot, the Phantom ducked down and started to run on all fours, then dived at Wizard to pin him to the ground. It let out a light growl. "You're not much of a talker." Wizard commented. "I don't like where you're going with this, though." Wizard used the Liquid ring to liquefy himself and appear above the Phantom, delivering a kick on his way down. He then switched his weapon to sword mode and slashed at it, but the Phantom quickly regained composure and tossed him off. The Phantom then picked him up and threw Wizard against a wall in the room. Before Wizard blacked out from this impact, he noticed an explosion go off near the Phantom, which caused it to leave his sight. A few seconds later, he came to, and the Phantom was gone. "Geez, that was brutal." Wizard commented weakly, getting out of the wall he was thrown into. He let out a small grunt of defeat and deactivated his belt, allowing his suit to dematerialize. He then pulled out his cell phone to make a call. "Rinko," Haruto greeted, "Got trouble here. A Phantom stopped by this resort and wrecked it." "So I've heard," Rinko replied, "Medics are on the way. I can't do much while I'm out of town." "Alright. I'm gonna keep an eye out for that Phantom." Haruto closed his phone and took out a ring to summon one of his other familiars, the Kraken, to pump up surveillance. With a nod in Haruto's direction, it hovered off on its mission. "So..." A female voice could be heard from nearby. "Mm?" Haruto looked around and found the source. "You?" Aimi stood there, a black book held to her chest. "So, you're a mage, too?" She asked hopefully. "Too?" Haruto turned to her in surprise. "You mean, you're--?" "Pretty much." She held her right hand out to present an Explosion ring.
