Depends on what you want out of them.
I'll be the first to say SHF Gai is overpriced and comes with too few accessories. But I felt it was a far better figure than Figma Thrust in almost every way. While I may not be happy having paid what I did for Gai, I'm much happier having Gai than I was having Thrust. Especially since I have SHF Genocider. I personally would recommend going for the Figuarts over the Figmas. Yes, it will cost you more, but in my opinion, you'll have much better looking, much more poseable, much more fun toys out of it. On the other hand, Thrust was my first Figma, and I lucked out and got Gai shortly thereafter, so I may not have had a chance to warm up to Thrust. I've since gotten a couple other (non Rider) Figmas, and I really like them, so maybe I'd be happier with Figma Thrust now than I was last year. |

If you just want to fill in blanks ofa display with bit characters you don't care much for, Figmas will do.

Honestly, I'd say get the figmas if you're in a pinch financially. I plan on getting Knight's figma for sure and he's the only one I would consider not getting the figuart for. If you just need a placeholder, get some and when you get the figuarts, sell the figma or display them both. Unless you know, we never get Femme as a figuart.

I'm actually showcasing the DQ display, but it has Kamen Riders in it, so it counts, right?
more info about it in the everything else cool stuff thread Now, PLEASE tell me where you got those awesome display sets. Been dying to display my figures in wacky set ups since enjoying you guys hilarious efforts. I need scaled props, back drops, the works! Just thinking, when Blank Form dropped his treats, thought it'd be funny to pose with his broken sword and be like "not again!" Quote:

Guess they have a DQ near the Toshi Station.

Somebody here has also said they've seen them at TRU, but hasn't mentioned a price. |

If it's a character who's Figuart is wayyy overpriced (Knight, Verde, and Gai come to mind) then yes, get the Figmas. The most notable difference is the matte finish of the Figmas vs. the shinier SHFs, and the crisper details on the SHFs.
