Does anyone know where to find actual decent hurricanger subs? I know shout factory released them and everyone went stupid and took down their free subs, but are there any free ones that aren't the crappy hong kong ones out there?

No. Legitimate people took their subs down to support the official release. If you live in the US, you should be able to find it on Shout's streaming service.

Pluto TV airs Sentai on TokuSHOUTsu.
Tubi is a free-but-with-ads model which is home to all tokusatsu released by SHOUT! www.shoutfactorytv.com also has the subs. You don't actually need the physical discs to watch any SHOUT-released Sentai! Most fan-subbers pull their own copies cause their copy was only to spur the Powers That Be to officially release the shows themselves, which is slowly happening. Granted, things have slowed down, but we're still hopeful for more. |

I'm honestly not sure if we ever got a complete fansub for Hurricanger, even if you could find one still out there.

The legitament ones would have left them up. I will not, under any circumstances pay for subs, and until someone pointed me to their free streaming service I was operating under the assumption that they were another greed driven corporation only interested in money.

As a person who has worked on fansubs, I can say, that we WANT official DVDs with subs to be available. Fansubs are a lot of work, with no pay. We only do it because we love Toku and want people to enjoy it. NOT so that people can steal content. And expecting to get paid for your work is not "greed." The company paid for the rights and paid their workers to prepart the subs, do a lot of other work, etc. Paying them is the right thing and to do. And by using the streaming service, you ARE paying for them. You are watching ads and they collect money from the ads to pay for the shows. They still aren't free. Besides, this whole discussion is moot anyway. As someone else pointed out, there were not, as I am aware of, any complete fansubs avaiable anyway. The official subs are the only complete subs aside from those hong kong ones. |
