Title says it all really. Saw a poll like this on Twitter and decided to see what y’all think on the matter.

First of all, you might want to change the title. "Which franchise do you hunk celebrates its legacy the best?" is hilarious though.
Second, Super Sentai. Gokaiger is AMAZING and you can't convince me otherwise. |

Yeah, I’m really not sure how to change the title.

I know some will say Ultraman, I would say Ultraman too because it has some nice nuance with references and bringing back old Kaiju and just constantly building on this gigantic universe. Not to mention the fact that while there are cameos and such, they don't feel too terribly overbearing in that you need to know their deal. You can just watch this guest Ultraman show up and be like, "He was cool, where can I see him in action?" and that ladies and gentlemen is how I got into Ultraman Max.
But that's all about Ultraman because I did not vote for Ultraman. Today is October 7th and we've got the 15th Anniversary of Garo so I voted Other and let me gush about Garo really quickly. While 15 years isn't too big of a legacy, I still think it manages to pay respect to all of it's various characters in different ways alongside it's themes. A lot of Garo stuff end up having similar enough themes and they manage to keep the core of it strong. But going back to the characters, you see, we had Makai Retsudan a while back, which was basically an anthology series that said "Hey you know this diverse cast of characters? What if we explored moments of their daily lives?" and did just that and it was a nice way to see these characters again, and seeing some we only saw brief glimpses of. The fact that Garo is so small as it is being only 15 means it's able to do anniversary stuff better, with honestly Makai Retsudan being one of my favorite anniversary seasons up there with Mebius. Not to mention just prior, singular movies focusing on certain characters, other characters coming back if possible, it's just really nice to see. Like Garo knows it has a nice big cast and does whatever it can with them. |

In terms of longevity Ultraman, bar none. Especially post-Mebius and after Zero debuted and the New Generation started I feel like it was further strengthened.

Godzilla, easy. It absolutely loves it's callbacks, and considering people actually get upset when the franchise introduced new monsters instead of using old ones (Like the MUTOs), it's clear that Godzilla's history is important even for the modern films.
From small nods to previous films, to entirely new timelines that take make extensive use of the previous history, Godzilla loves to celebrate it's legacy with each new iteration.
