RV Robo
So I mentioned a while back that I thought Turbo Robo had a lot of neat ideas to but it needed a bit more ironing out it terms of how it executed them. That's what RV Robo is because it's basically Turbo Robo 2.0. It's like they looked at Turbo Robo, went back to drawing board on it, and out came RV Robo as a result. It just does a lot of things Turbo Robo tried to do but better. There's a better spread of colours throughout the whole mecha, the combination is more interesting plus I think all the pieces were used more efficiently since we don't have like 3 vehicles forming the lower legs, and the overall shape and sillouette is more rounded and angular, not as blocky as Turbo Robo was. I also really like the details on it, especially the chest. The way the red and blue mixed together, how the spotlight forms the chest, it looks so good. RV Robo is just a great improvement over Turbo Robo. Sirender Sirender is a pretty good looking. It's rather simple in how it goes from vehicle mode to robot mode but it still works. Things like the police badge and the traffic lights on the chest nicely emphasize the police motif and I quite like the head with its flip up visor. It's a pretty good design all around. VRV Robo I'm pretty sure this is the last time we see the 5 humanoid mecha concept until like Magiranger or something. VRV Robo is a pretty ambitious design, having 5 humanoid mechas that can transform into their own vehicle modes while also being able to combine together. I think the attempt was pretty succesfull barring a few issues. All 5 of the VRV Machines are very distinct from each other in both robot and vehicle form. VRV Robo himself is a pretty solid design, a lot bigger and bulkier than RV Robo which is a design choice that also transfers to the vehicles since most of the VRV Machines are based on vehicles that are big and heavy whereas the Ranger Vehicles all look like their built for speed. The head is also a little endearing with how it's almost shaped like a V. I just have 2 nagging issues about him. The proportions are sorta off particularly the legs with how thin the thighs are in comparison to the lower legs. Also his combination, specifically where all the various pieces go to is almost exactly like RV Robo which makes both mechas feel a bit too similar to each other. Scramble Intersection Robo From what I understand, this combination was created because pieces from both mechas were too damaged to continue fighting. So even in the show this was kind of thrown together combination. Still though it is pretty cool that both mechas are able to swap limbs with each other. Plus the fact that it's named after an actual intersection, one that's common to Japan, is pretty hilarious. I still think RV Robo works better with its own limbs as VRV Robo's limbs are simply too big. Victrailer Ehhhhhhhhhhh. I mean I get that Victrailer is the carrier mech of this show so by definition he has to be big and lack any real human like proportion. Even still the fact that the matter is, his mechas just consist of the cab stacked on top of the trailer boxes. Really the most noteworthy thing about him are his arms since they become VRV Robo's finisher cannons. Radiacar Robo So uh.........this is a thing that exist. I mean it is clearly suppose to be a joke but.......well just look at it. It has a giant cat head, it has an actual tail, there is a steering wheel right on its groin. It trancends any and all ways to describe it. |

I always forget how nice and clean all of Carranger's mecha look. While I don't I'd consider any of the show's mecha to be in my top 5, they're all very solid and I don't have any real complaints about any of them. I especially love the fact that the VRV Machines are able to go from vehicle to mini robot to single combination robot so smoothly while not only looking nice but looking different enough to stand out from one another. I also love how the VRV's finisher is basically just a big fat wave of pure fire power. Why do I keep forgetting how much I love VRV.

It's one of the first mecha Toys I owned and I actually quite like the designs. The only problem I could think of it's the weak joint in the toys and also I don't know why they need to make the 2nd main mecha nearly identical to the 1st one combination wise.

You have to wonder if someone was looking back toward Transformers and other animated Mecha when thinking about Sirender and VRV Fighters! Radicar Robo is so "Hello Kitty" it's wonderful (and I don't even care for Hello Kitty)!!! Radicar first appeared in Carranger 34 and GREW GIANT in Carranger 45!!! Thoughtfully kept out of PR Turbo!
P.S.: Say what you will about Victrailer the Mecha, but the song for it is something else! |

Sirender has a really cool design. I like that it's a one car mecha.

RV Robo still holds up. The overall silhouette may seem basic but the details are what helps make it stand out. The individual ranger vehicles are well-designed too in my opinion.
Also, the show helped it make it badass every time especially with this particular shot. As for the others, Sirender I think is an awesome design. Its vehicle mode is nice, and its robot mode fits nicely with Signalman's design. VRV Robo I think the only problem with it is that the legs feel a bit imbalanced. Victrailer feels like the robot mode is kinda unnecessary but its trailer mode is nice.

RV Robo is one of my most favorite Sentai mecha. Probably RV Robo is one of fastest mecha in Super Sentai history. I also love when RV Robo team up with Engine-Oh in Gokaiger Goseiger Movie.
RV Robo's finisher is very cool too. And this finisher also used by Gokai Oh in Gokaiger Episode 14. Scramble Intersection Robo basicly are upgraded version of RV Robo. It just swap parts from VRV Robo. Yeah Scramble Intersection Robo is really similar to Gozyu Gokai Oh combination. Last edited by Blade Fang; 07-14-2017 at 06:02 PM.. |
