That's rarely the excuse. Usually it's just for being more solid. This is why we need SOC Sentai mecha...

Indeed. The minipla versions of Engineoh G12, Samurai Ha-oh and Gobusteroh arent exactly super sturdy. Even still, I wouldnt say the minipla Magiking gained any meaning full articulation. Its legs can splay out more due to the ball jointed hips (IIRC) allowing for a certain degree of knee banding but the arms are still very much stuck there. I used to own this guy and Wolzard's mecha, I sold them off about 2 years ago because I thought they were meh.

All together I think Magiking is one of the most impressive looking Mechs in the line. I was never really a fan of Magiranger/Mystic Force, but the look of this machine was always so impressive. My favorite iteration of it has to be the SRC version. Love the posability and how lithe that one is. This one is (I know it's just a candy toy) just a little more blocky than I'd like.
