-Once again keeping fights short and fast. -Round 1: Did I mention Wing Zero is British. -Round 2: Silent Death is basically a invisibility Kai Blast. I like opponents like this that have a simple gimmick that I can play around with. The use of ink is a simple way to address the gimmick to while bringing in the 4th summon. -Summon Character 4: Claw Jaw. He's based on Frog from Chrono Trigger. specifically original English translation that gave him a knight's speech pattern. You're gonna see a lot of Chrono Trigger references in TAOWAR. You might be wondering why not give this personality to Spittor, the frog. Simple, I didn't have a useable toy of Spittor at the time and frankly I wanted the personality to go to one of my favorite toys. -Claw Jaw is the first summon to have a Kai Blast. Most of the others have one to. -This also starts how summons work in battle. When they are K.O.ed, they just poof back to wherever they go. This stops them from being killed. -Round 3: Yeah, I took myself out in the semifinals. I figured no one could complain if the 2 characters that weren't actually there in real life were in the finals. -The first time the "organization" and "the Master" are mentioned. That term will be confusing later. Also learn Leader-1 is a rogue agent. -By the time Season 2 starts, all but 2 Botcon '07 exclusive figures appear in TAOWAR. Ironically the 2 that have not made it into a comic are the only 2 I still own. So that Springer and Seekers, long gone. -Box Set Name Drop. -And now there's the B.i.S., the Bots in Silver. Yet another group shows up and like GI Joe I never got to focus enough on it. They are basically reserve Men in Black. Instead of hiding aliens from the world, they go to other worlds to track down their own. Because Transformers live on Earth they aren't hiding from the public at all. Tomorrow: The finals, some pirating, and more lore to explain what a Go-Bot. |

-Hey look, a fight between characters from the same franchise, how novel. -I think in one panel, a part of Thundercracker's flight stand can still be seen. -The code name for X-Brawn is X-B because I realized that one of the forum characters was named Agent X. -Random grunts that aren't bad guys doing the fun random grunt thing I love so much. I still have one of these figures because he's the driver to the R.O.C.C. being stolen and that is one of my 2 favorite GI Joe vehicles. -So I guess I did add a little more on GI Joe in the main comic. I forgot I name dropped Mr. Saxon here. If you know what that name is a reference to, you are correct. -So I have Jack Sparrow and Yoda stealing from GI Joe. This is some of the stuff I missed from TAOWAR. This wouldn't have happen naturally in ATTF's one comic one story format. This happens because it moves the plot forward. -Yes, I am totally ripping off the first Pirates movie here and that's part of the fun. -Final Round: TO THE DEATH! Yeah, this is a joke fight. -I sort of wish I kept the Action Shovel around. Imagine the Shovel Knight jokes I could make. The umbrella comes back later, but I don't think the shovel does. -Who yelled to kill him anyways? I like to think it was me. Not Blade, me, the writer. -Lore time. I didn't know much about Go-Bots, not the origin story or anything, so I made something up that fit in the universe. Normally I like to transplant fiction as cleanly as possible, but here I decided to do something else because I wasn't familiar. -Also, while I'm on the subject of in universe changes to fiction, Transformers have all already downscaled after the war ended in the 90's. That's basically the Maximal and Predacon upgrade, but without the name change (Maximals and Predacons exist as different factions). None of this is in the comic, just my behind the scenes logic. -So Go-Bots are the term for Transformer actors in TAOWAR and also Transformers from Gobotron, which is just a colony of Cybertron. -One thing I will mention here is that in universe, Shortround is a Go-Bot in that he's an actor. It's talked about in his profile. I have decided that those profiles will be posted once I know they won't have spoilers in them. Shortround's profile was my favorite of them, by the way. -The destruction of Gobotron is something from a story line that I will probably never make, but I will leave the hints of it in just in case never becomes today. -I just now noticed Blade's scabbard is not the normal one. I forgot I used this one. -"Caribbean Crawdad" is my favorite wrong Desert Claw name. That honestly sounds like something Desert Claw's brother would be named...hmm...note the self. Tomorrow: Lots of fighting as we end this little side arc. |

-First panel is a Kai Blast. Dreadwind's Kai Blast just splits everyone into pairs. This one just exists to be a plot device for one-on-one fights. -Most of the fighting is off panel. Mostly characters that have had a couple of fights already. -W's dramatic flair is based on Sailor Moon's catch phrase. -I think this is the only time W. legit wins a fight. -Weirdwolf's Kai Blast is just a fist attack to go up against Archangel's fist attack. -Archangel's dramatic flair is, of course, based on Domon's catch phrase from G Gundam. Of these dramatic flair lines, Archangel had the best one. -Hey, Rock Lee is doing something. Shame his toy sucks so I can't show any of it. I do like the ninja way line though. It's so dumb. -Kai Blast: Cog of Fate. I was being literal with that name. Leader-1 didn't have a modern toy until recently, so I made his power set summoning based. The Cog just seemed to be a good match for Leader-1 and worked with what I was needing. I believe I might not have considered it a Kai Blast or just thought Leader-1 didn't know what Kai Blasts were at the time, hence his way of explaining it. -Blade and Tuskie in a sword fight...and Blade loses said sword fight. -Blade's dramatic flair is straight up just Darkwing Duck's catchphrase. Wish I had done something to it. -Yeah, I ended Blade's battle with Shortround. I really like Shortround transforming another Transformer as if he was a toy. -Leader-1 can transform! Leader-1's flight stand is one of the worst hidden. I did that on the re-edit. Speaking of, I believe this was the last re-edited comic. Expect smaller font tomorrow. -So the Seekers and Agent X-B are out, either captured or injured. Sadly, Agent X-B hasn't appeared again, just haven't had the chance to use him. Agent S will be back though and I'm not not with Weirdwolf or Dreadwind just yet. -Final joke for the arc is of course sneaking a reference to the movie joke about W. Tommorrow: Things slow down as the gang regroups and plans for the final battle. Also, the beginning of setting up future stories. |

Oh what the heck, here's some Filler Funnies (2-6). Most of the early ones are in continuity, but none are important.
First one is right before the Botcon arc. #3 is when the comic changed forums to the Axalon Underground and this was just the silly joke for the switch. The last 3 for today are really dumb jokes for the first Transformers movie taking place at the end of the Botcon arc. Personally I think the first one is the best of these. I'd post more now, but 7-9 all take place in the next arc and make reference to the status quo of that arc. Side note, 9 is one of my all time favorites and yes I will be posting it when we get there. |

-This is when I made it a rule that only a select few characters knew they were in a comic, maybe W. -Star and Archangel really should've been reversed in this scene. Star is more likely to make the Trek joke and probably knows more about cars than Archangel in real life. -That Cookie Monster picture is something Wolfangel drew. She had given me a pack of cardboard and this drawing was randomly in it, so I decided to use it. -Call back to the Village People and Gung-Ho line from arc 2. Also an excuse to do the YMCA poses with these toys. -A recap of all of Blade's summons including showing off the Kai Blasts of Seaspray and Deepdive. I won't go over the Kai Blasts here because frankly the comic explains them. They get used in fights later. There is no useless summon. -There's a mention of Shortround not taking much damage because he's the same Element as the attack. I never go into full details on those, but have a text file on them. All you really need to know is Fire and Water are weak to each other and Wind and Earth are weak to each other. -Here's when Gnome Prime comes back. I don't think he really does anything until season 2, he's just a background character. -For a couple of issues here I forgot to give Claw Jaw the knightly lines. I don't know why. -Roger is here to be a blogging droid and get W. out of Blade's hair for the next event. -New character...who isn't named until next time. Let's call her Thief for now. Thief is made of Microman (In this case Micro Lady) parts. I was new to importing toys and this is what I could make with the blank bodies. Her figure changes a few times (all of which are better if you ask me) as Microman toys of that era were far more brittle their GI Joe counterparts. Anyways, she came from my desire to have another woman in the cast with different goals. -Oh look, it's Team Rock-Arm Bullet and Gasket. Using the Japanese name on these characters because I watched Galaxy Force over Cybertron. -Arm Bullet's Kai Blast is what he uses in the anime. -Summon character: Terragator. Since each Summon has a use, Terragator was an obvious choice. Giant shield. Also, I like that toy. He has a huge range of motion on 3 of his 4 limbs. Plus he's half turtles. Turtles are awesome. -I love this Team Rocket bit. It's in character to. They had those fans in the show. I did a similar bit once in ATTF with Soundwaves. That was weird comic. Don't get to use to them. This duo doesn't really do anything after this. I might bring them back one day as I do still have these guys. -Thief gets shot here. Aside from the summoning scroll, I think this is the first time there's been any blood. This being more of an action comedy comic at the time, it's barely there. Just enough to get the point across. Much later that changes some. Tomorrow: The plot thickens, confusing names, and my unresolved issues with my past work. |

-I apparently have unresolved issues with this comic. Please enjoy me bitching about how awful I think half of this comic is. (Note: I'm partly playing it up for laughs so please don't think I'm being hard on myself) -My god this scene can be read as super creepy. -I just realized what Claw Jaw did off panel would look like...I wrote this with the intent of him playing the part of half a medic (the other half being Blade's Joe training). Just for the record. If you don't know what I'm implying, good. -So Thief is topless. I will defend this part as, you know, clothes get in the way of treating wounds. And yes, just topless. -Well, and the gloves were removed, but that's for a different reason. Those gloves are Thief's Mystic Aids. -The worthwild part of this scene is Blade getting hit in the back of the head with that briefcase. He deserved that. -See, he even says he deserved it...and then follows up with a douchy excuse. Hit him again Thief! I hate that line. I almost changed it to, but no, I'm eating crow here. That line is awful. -So this scene was my attempt at some anime pervy comedy. Something you'd see in early Dragon Ball or Tenchi Muyo or the like. I think it almost works, but what doesn't work I find in poor taste now. If I had cut Claw Jaw and that one line, I think it would be okay. I will defend the briefcase to the head part though. That part works and if it stopped there, it would be so much better. How it it though, Blade comes off as kind of a jackass. -I do like the thank you part here just because I find a lot of anime do forget that part and it makes both characters look bad. -So Destro is still around. That can't be good. Why yes, I'm trying to change the subject. -Thief is making a Rider 1 henshin pose here. That was completely unintentional. I knew what Kamen Rider was, but wasn't familiar with Rider 1 yet. -Kai Blast: Seal/Release. It's explained later how it works so let's talk about what it's based on...Fullmetal Alchemist hand clap + pocket dimension. Done. Sorry, I'm still kind of mad at myself-I mean Blade. I do love this Kai Blast though. Thief has a stock pile of stolen weapons she can summon. It's versatile. -Blazing Sword. I wish I had come up with a better name for these, but I didn't. They never even catch fire. I just couldn't think of anything better at the time. -AND THEN THEY FIGHT! (I said the thing) -Stop hitting on her, Blade. You already copped a feel. Kick his ass, Thief! -Oh thank baby Jesus, it's something else. W. and...a Smurf. What?! This is the first time this Smurf ever appears. He appears in Filler Funnies later in Tom and Jerry like strips, but where he came from? Never explained. -GP is like the Smurf, except he does come from somewhere and is going places someday. -Searching for the Black Pearl. Can I read that comic instead? Okay, this is actually a good scene. I'm just salty now. -If I wanted to, I could bring back Spay-C and Dreadwind with modern toys. I think they make a cute duo and this is the only scene they share. -Confusing term time. One of the "Masters" (later called the Four Masters in this comic) is being sent. THE Master is the leader of the organization. I should've renamed something here. -I like to think Blade is being kicked in the balls right around this point. -So Cobra is also still around. That can't be good. -Kai Blast: Diamond Touch. Had to get Wolfangel one. She uses Earth so that I don't ever have to make W's useful again. Diamond Touch turns things into diamonds. Simple as that. I honestly don't think it was inpired by anything. I just needed a Kai Blast for her. -The PS3 line is a reference to a stunt my brother pulled to propose to Wolfangel...I guess that's a spoiler to real life? -A tie?! Ugh, I hate myself-I mean Blade. Remember, Thief is wounded. She would've totally kicked Blade's ass if not for that. -Oh yeah, her name is Thief. Yeah, I was hiding it in plain sight in these notes. There is a reason why she's called that. I might share it later, but it's a nerdy reference that I think some people could guess. -"Thief, huh?" You little cliche weaboo shit. -New character: Ceus. I think I took the the Latin word for purple and shorten it. I just needed her to not be named Arcee and needed a bike and partner thief. -Did I mention there was time travel? And mixed time travel to. Here we have the Back to the Future kind while name dropping Time Lords. -This story is picked back up between seasons 1 and 2 is Tales of the Time Thief. I wanted Thief to stand on her own and not be just "the girl." Honestly, I think it's a better intro to her than this. -Back to the better comic, time for good cop/bad cop. I wanted Archangel and Wolfangel to have more panel time together. I actually love everything about this scene. The failure bit, the off screen cat, the way they finally talk. Good stuff. -Oh look who's here, Mr. "I Got Hit With This Briefcase and Met a Girl." Ugh, and you're talking about Family Guy to. You disgust me. -Exposition Trooper, the second best kind of trooper. The organization is now named. DE-MOS just sounds cool (plus, it's Latin for demon). It's spoken as "DE" as in "decapitate" and "MOS" as in "Cosmos". If you ever forget, remember "DEcapitate CosMOS"...what is wrong with me tonight? -Leader-1, the Minicon, is here. It had to happen. What's funny is I don't think I got one until Botcon 07. -Oh great, now Agent X is back...screw it, I'm transferring all my hate to him. It's the only why I can survive! -I've spent most of this issue wishing bodily harm on myself. I now know why people make themselves Mary Sues. Tomorrow: The Master and the Masters master the art of mastering who are the Masters while baiting the Master. |

Bonus Filler Funnies today. I meant to post this earlier, but got busy. Tonight will be the next comic.
First one was done to showcase the customizing I did between issues. It's mostly accent colors related the the character's Element, but the biggest change is Archangel's hat is finally green and white like the real world hat my brother wears at cons (and yes, it's Bleach hat). Second comic is just silliness and one of the rare times a Kai Blast is used in a Filler Funny. |

-If that logo on the chair looks familiar, that's the Logo in the top left corner of any of the covers ATTF has. It is the DE-MOS logo. -You didn't think I forgot to put in Bugbite the Go-Bot in this plot about Go-Bots, did you? Honestly, he was written in late. Otherwise he would've been in the Botcon arc. -Bugbite is one of the Four Masters and the one mentioned last time. 4 four are seen by the end of the season. -Who is THE Master? He's a random collection of Joe parts I had lying around. No, you're not going to get a better answer out of me then that right now. -The background in THE Master's room is the insert background form Lio Convoy's box. -"Holy father of Prima" is one of those made up Transformer swears I always hoped would catch on and I still use it today. -Technobabble technobabble technobabbleup. It's all to set up the next season. Is it important? Yeah, it's just exposition for a different, or rather larger, story. -Agent S being able to use the chips means that yes, he will be in season 2. -There's a plot hole here that I can't talk about until later. -W's speech had to happen. It's literally happening on July 4th and he's a President. All it needed it to be is full on hammy and I think it did it's job well. -FINALLY! Someone said it! The villains collectively call the heroes the "Bush Raiders." It's the joke that keeps on giving. It is never explained, no one every laughs, no one except Blade ever reacts to that name as anything but a name. At the time I was planning to start calling them TAOWAR in season 2 with a forced acronym like DE-MOS has. Bush Raiders was just going to be the joke name until the real name was put in. The group is never called TAOWAR. Not once. -I kept Weirdwolf around for one reason, I wanted him and Yoda to fight. -And so the final battle begins. This was a similar to the first Go-Bots fight, but the idea to make it different here was to follow W. as he broke through the enemy forces while interacting with most of the characters. I feel it could be better, mainly with some odd angles, but I think it can be followed well enough. If nothing else, it was fun to make. Tomorrow: Yoda vs Weirdwolf and fighting in the Oval Office! |

You may be wondering what THE Master is doing right about now. Well, I have a Filler Funny for that and it's one of my favorites.

-Starting with Yoda and Weirdwolf. Weird Fist gets an effect this time. While I wouldn't call it great, it's better than no effect like last time. -Kai Blast: Lightning Force. It's just a form of force lightning on the sword. If you haven't noticed, a lot of the enemies and side characters get Kai Blasts that are there just to move the fight along. -Weirdwolf is beheaded. I can't remember if I went with this because he was a Headmaster or because it was the only thing I could take off the body. Might've been both. Either way, he's treated as dead. If you don't like that, pretend the Weirdwolf in that one ATTF is this Weirdwolf afterwards. -Sort of Kai Blast: Wrecking with Power. It's the same thing that Hot Shot does when he uses his Cyber Key, so I guess it counts. Either way, heavy arms moments are always fun. -In a random moment of character growth, Tuskie objects to being an executioner. I honestly think Tuskie might've been happy the Bush Raiders showed up. -How is it that I have 2 Leader-1s in this comic and they aren't the confusing names? -So yeah, the Minicon is a junior. I'm sure someone saw that coming. Also, I'm sure someone out there guessed that Rollbar was just there to die. -Had to get one rhyme out of Roadblock. He's one of my favorite Joes after all. -Even Leader-1, uhhh the Go-Bot, thinks things have gone to far. Meanwhile Bugbite is going to force a fight however he can. Did Cy-Kill leave Leader-1 behind? I honestly don't know. -I like Shortround's line about Bugbite. He was the least wanted in the set at the time. -C-C-Combo time! Okay, this is actually one of my favorite things to do in fights. Characters stringing together attacks to beat the living crap out of something. In this case it ends with the Cog getting cut in half. And not in the way Ratchet can fix. Tomorrow: The final battle against Leader-1! |
