No new Super episode this week, but there will be one next week. We should find out on who Black really is by the next episode. I find it interesting that the Kaioshins have time rings. Which makes me wonder if Kaioshin and Elder Kaioshin in Universe 7 have them or not.

Jason Douglas (The English Funimation voice actor for Beerus) post this on his Instagram. He post this before it taken down. People believe it's hinting a English dub for Super.

That looks like a shot of super. English dub?
Is it weird i'm looking forward to that purely to hear more of Beerus's english dub voice?

You know I'd originally been really looking forward to the English dub. I've been a lifelong fan of the franchise, I own all of Dragonball & it's movies on DVD, all of DBZ & It's movies on Blu-ray, I even own the GT DVD set. I've been hearing the Funimation dub for my entire time as a fan (side note I HATED the original dub cast for DBZ). But watching 50+ episodes of Super in Japanese has given me a new appreciation for the Japanese voice cast that I didn't have before.

I never could stand the japanese cast so finally seeing a dub come to light is really exciting and will make me check it out.

I've been a big fan of the Japanese voice cast for nearly 15 years. The Japanese voices are very legendary and iconic to me. I do like Funimation's dub on Dragon Ball now these days since they keep things faithful. But I always enjoy the Japanese cast more though. When Funimation releases Super on Blu-Ray, at least they will probably use the Blu-Rays from Japan with that fixed the animation errors. I will probably buy Super on Blu-Ray in the US.
Personally I can't stand the old DBZ dubs from Funimation. Funimation's dub with the Ocean voice cast is a guilty pleasure of mine due to nostalgia, but I can admit it was bad. Funimation's dub from 1999-2003 on Toonami with Bruce Faulconer's music is so bad for me to watch again. Bad voice acting, bad dub changes, bad censorship and the awful cheesy dialogue. Bruce Faluconer's music feels like it could fit for any generic Saturday morning cartoon at the time. Shunsuke Kikuchi's music is so legendary to me, I love it.

Oh Faulkners music is true garbage. I have never been able to stand it. Even when I was a kid, before I knew there even was such a thing as the original Japanese version. I normally like to watch DB/Z/GT with English dub and Japanese music tracks. Thankfully the US DBZ Blu-Rays allow me to do that.

I like both languages, it just varies on the version. I can't stand the original DBZ dubs because of the script changes, the horrible script changes. Also, I hate Linda's voice for Freeza as she makes Freeza sound like a chain smoking transvestite.
However, I prefer Kai in English and the two new new movies thanks to the more accurate scripts and improved voices. Chris Ayres is just as great as Nakao for Freeza and I like the change Sabat made with Vegeta. As for Super, I don't like a lot of the Japanese voices because they sound off due to their ages or the characters have been replaced for whatever reason (Mr Satan, Tenshinhan, Kaio), so I'm looking forward to it in English. |
