After 444 years (plus two weeks), Kibaoni Gangetsu is free. Can the Ninningers overpower his evil?!

I feel like it makes a bit more sense why it is called "Last Ninja"

As stupid as the tiny Tsugonomori was, I thought it was still kinda funny. It's interesting how the Last Ninja powers are passed on. Knowing this, I don't know if we'll even have a Last Ninja now. 3 more episodes left. Wow, this show passed by very quickly.

This one was alright. Would I have liked more to happen? Sure. But I guess I'm resigned to a lackluster finale, so as long as I can see the characters shine for a few more eps, I'll be happy. Fortunately, the focus on the characters was the strength of this episode, so I won't complain.
Stray Thoughts (and spoilers!): Gabi Raizou's resurrection was strange, and I'm not sure why he's necessary. I wonder if he'll be around to do anything other than die again. The cinematography of the "out-of-suit" stuff was really dynamic -- there were some good, long takes, some great movement, and some nice style (especially in the Last Ninja flashback). I'm not used to this level of style and polish from the show's non-action scenes, and it really imparted the feeling of "finale arc gravitas" that maybe the story itself lacked. Is Kibaoni Gengetsu perhaps the least compelling, most generic sentai big bad in history? Three Aka Ningers in the next episode trailer, eh? I'm listening. Don't have a huge amount of praise for the episode itself (it was simply okay) but I found the Kibaoni family structure rather fascinating. Really curious to see if that comes around to bite Gengetsu and Kyuuemon in the ass.

Welp, I went on over-time's blog to see if a DDL link was up yet and found a pretty big spoiler. FML.
Where can I watch it subbed right now without torrenting? Whenever I see a spoiler I like to actually experience that plot element as soon as I can, but I've always just used the DDL link over-time posted.

Alrighty then, finally saw the episode. I think I'll just make a numbered list of all of my comments. Spoilers, but, you should know that by this point in the thread
1. It seems like if Tsugonomori had used the memory control tactics from the very beginning, he could have generated a LOT more fear/take down the Ninningers faster than any of the entire Gengetsu clan's tactics throughout the entire series. Why wait until now? 2. While I did miss Gabi Raizou, what really is the point of bringing him back at this point? He either is going to be way powered up and gloat about it, but have the Ninningers win because they're stronger now too, or be the same strength as before and just flat-out get creamed 3. The "Kill the Last Ninja" to become the next one" revelation seems like it came out of nowhere and doesn't really fit in with the rest of the series. Shouldn't you say something like that towards the beginning of the training? 4. I get the feeling that, while Kibaoni Gengetsu is the big bad, the "main" villain is and has always been Kyuuemon. 5. Part of me feels like once this series ends, and we have a complete picture of what it's about, people will start to like it a bit more.

I had recently just finished a re-watch of Kyoryuger and watching this episode after that sentai's finale and how seriously they treated the deaths of their monster generals, seeing Tsugomori taken out like any other monster of the week was just...frustrating.
On top of that, Tsugomori himself, like Gengetsu's wife, was just never an interesting character. He had promise, but then they just stuck him on the sidelines as a spectator for the majority of his time on the show. His abilities to mess with people's minds and memories could have lent themselves to such good stories and episodes and would have made the character extremely intimidating. Hell, even the sudden fact that he's actually just a tiny creature could have been an interesting thing to either allude to or use to his advantage. Plus his scheme was interesting, but with how easily Fuuka and Yakumo were able to dispel it, why didn't someone like Kasumi think of that, too? They apparently had plenty of time to realize what was happening to them before being brainwashed if the former two's ordeal was any indication. Yeah, it sounds absolutely nitpicky, but it just comes off as lazy to me.
