I wonder if Legeiel would get mad at Calibur since his plan was to use each of the six swordsmen for his pillar thing but Calibur took down Rintaro.
Probably. Hopefully it's Kento who gets Jaaku Dragon since he won't be getting much upgrades in a while. |

Need to rewatch with subtitles but Kento is going full psycho "everyone is a traitor" route + "I get angry at friends" trope and I don't like it. But it was predictable.
Jaou Dragon is totally power metal rider :'D Mei landing after falling in the stairs was *_* |

I just hope there’ll be a Saber vs Calibur fight like Build and Stalk.
Rintaro better heal soon, for Mei’s heart shouldn’t break!!! Kento will probably join the Southern Branch. |

Just realized rewatching this episode that it was rather savage for a kids show
The Goblin way of dealing with people is almost GAROesque with those blood red shape being left behind. And anyone who've seen Ex-Aid should still have PTSD from a particular moment when watching Kento and Rintaro final scene in this ep. I wonder what's the deal about Sophia though. It looks like she knew she would not come back to the northern base because she gives the key to Mei. The show wants us to believe someone teleports her by surprise (probably wants us to believe it's Reika), but I have the feeling she's doing something on her own. And maybe it sounds absurd, but when Tassel's doorbell is ringing at the end, and he is saying "ah they arrived" I don't know why my mind immediately thought "Maybe that's Sophia and Reika" |

I don't have anything particularly elaborate to say about this one, but I really loved it. Kento and Rintarou's interpersonal conflict is classic early Heisei drama that I'm all over, and Nakazawa's direction is really slick in the fight scenes, as always, right down to the usual use of slow-motion for emphasis.
Plus, Calibur is pretty cool! I don't know if I've really said that yet, so I guess this is a good time to get it out there. I'm on record as not being too hot on main bad guys who are Riders for little reason, so explicitly making both versions of this character fallen heroes does a lot to put some weight back into the concept. How much I like him in the long-term is going to depend on what the payoff we get is, but I'm enjoying the way they're keeping his motives entirely ambiguous by only telling us he wants great power at all costs without saying yet what that power is for. Kento may be acting overly paranoid in this episode, but there are a lot of hints that the series genuinely does have some huge conspiracy going on, and that's got my attention.

This was a pretty fun episode, pretty brutal at times too due to just well, how they handled the civilians and Rintaro just coughing up blood at the end there.
Jaouh Dragon is definitely a favorite in terms of jingle, like it starts heavy metal scream voice and turns into a song is really cool. Very interested to see where things go from here since it seems we're in full swing on our endgame for Quarter 1. |

Finally saw the episode.
Wow, I guess Christmas came early this year. Poor Rintaro. And as nonsensical as Jaou Dragon's jingle is, I can't deny how intense it sounds. Also, goblins as this week's monsters? Where's Goblin Slayer when you need him?

Regarding those goblins as well, is the part where they turn ppl into red patches on the ground a reference to anything? I just thought it's just "safe way" of the goblins turning ppl into puddles of blood without making it look gorey.

And that scene where Touma just told the goblin to stop, what was that? Did he actually think that would work? Anyway I liked this episode. Even Mei and Tassel are getting interesting!
