So this has to be the most antisocial ranger team right I mean we have
Magna Defender: Morally Gray loner Andros: Reluctant to team up with the former turbo rangers Ranger Slayer: Currently a villain Dark Ranger: Villain in the source footage Cam and Tanya are cool but Cam was a bit short temper at times. My Guess Power Rangers Suicide Squad |

Don't forget that Tanya is technically out of place. Location-wise. She basically vanished from Africa as a child and suddenly appeared in the US as an adult.

Whatever the scenario is that leads to this team existing, I'm down for it. The title has really been a great read through out it's run, and it's not like it's gotten stale. But this is a really fresh idea. Whether it's MMPR getting new morphers, or the actual characters themselves taking the place of the MMPR for a time being, I'm into it. This is a really cool idea that's only been touched on once before in Power Rangers with the Retro Rangers from the 15th Anniversary crossover. Sentai has done this a couple times with Dream Sentai composed of people from various teams. But seeing an on-going storyline using this as a basis is honestly very exciting to think about.
Really looking forward to how the toys may reflect this too. Hasbro has been known to do comic designs and even include comics in releases. So I'm looking forward to what they may do for this new MMPR era as it's conveniently timed right as they are taking over the license and toys. Especially interesting, I think this may lead to some special material later too. Kind of curious if the new suits and powers may eventually get more drawn off of Ranger Slayer's suit too. Very curious how this could lead to future big storylines and major events too. Shatter Grid really kind of feels like a prologue to something even bigger later. And it's not uncommon that one major event causes other major events to start falling into place. This is especially true in the comic world where every major event has been the cause of all major events that followed as the titles evolved from the previous. Ok, this is cool, REALLY cool xD. But a part of me wished the team was just of special rangers.
Someone pointed out to me how this teams follows the color pattern of the OG team but there are special rangers of those colors as well! Anyway, I dig it |

You know what would've been cool, a ranger team full of mentors who became rangers. So you'd have Doggie Kruger from SPD, RJ from Jungle Fury, Daggeron from mystic force (he's a mentor-like character or maybe udonna or leanbow as well as extras), kendall from dino charge. And for the leader, maybe red ranger zordon from the film

Nah, I would rather see them go nuts and make Bulk, Skull, and Spike rangers.

The same may not be as true now that there's a few years between. So Mystic Force stuff could be more open now. Same to other past stuff. We don't see them in the shows later because very few new series tread on past material at all, leaving most self-contained. Comics are also mostly confined by what is in the show, since that's the audience they are trying to draw in and that's the established lore. But if it'd sell, they'd likely expand the line more. But for right now, that's still debatable on how much it'd sell or split the current readership. Something they may look into later near the anniversary and whatever a bigger than normal anniversary series could be like or whatever they do for that. This is also why we don't see the Kyu suits in the comic either during Shattered Grid. It hasn't been adapted yet, so there's no material to draw from to include it as yet. Same to others. But those series are still open for usage in later seasons of PR. So comics don't use it mostly because of the fact the shows didn't use it. Which makes it "non-existent" in the PR library as yet. If a show uses it and establishes it, then it can be used. Unless they start mixing elements of new material/conversions from the comics to the shows. It's not so much that the comics don't have access to it, and more it's a delicate balance because of the ever growing/changing nature of the franchise. |

The comics may not be as limited as the show. The show iirc, has to pay extra for some footage of movie stuff. But usually that's also due to how close a series is to the movie's release. For a time there, PR's conversion of the series was airing right as the movies were getting home releases.

Different universe entirely. Though that may get its own version of shattered grid someday. That has more to do with plans on what's going to happen there probably aren't finalized yet. If it was a 'dead universe' though, then it'd be fair game for comics use in crossovers like this. It's the fact it's still undecided that blocks it from the major comic events as yet. As for show material though, or unused sentai stuff. Shattered Grid and the Kimberly miniseries marks a progression to build to a new era where they can have more freedom to expand. So we're getting there where the comics can someday hopefully eventually grow as big as other titles have for other companies. But it's a slow process to pull in with nostalgia, and then expand.
