I really want he can use two different weapon like Gashacon Magnum with Gashanon Sword.
Hmm...in episode 43, two Kamen Rider Chronicle Gashat used by Taiga in his Gamer Driver. Since Taiga as Cronus using Gamer Driver, I think he can use other Gashat and access other form. Example: Cronus Combat Chronicle Gamer, Cronus Sport Chronicle Gamer, Cronus Robot Chronicle Gamer, etc.. |

Yeah, it's been confirmed that the True Ending is A: canon, and B: set a year after the events of the show. I believe one of the cast members corroborated Miura's statement on Twitter, or something.
It boggles my mind to see that Western fans are still finding it hard to accept that the film is canon, when fans in Japan have no such hang ups. But for me, my hangups are the following. 1. Consistent with the above, I don't think "True Ending" at necessarily means cannon in the Westerns sense. I'm can't think of it for sure, but I'm pretty sure Japanese stuff has been called that while being not in continuity with the original ending. 2. I REALLY hate the idea of them just stopping the series without having the ending in series. It seems wrong to me. The latest news seems to indicate that "True Ending" really means "Epilogue" here and that it will merely wrap up some thing from the series rather than leave it hanging, but I assumed that if it was the only ending, that meant the series would have to just stop without resolving anything. 3. Precedent. They have never had a movie to finish the main storyline before except for Decade. And Decade did indeed just stop without resolving anything. So I had every reason to believe that it would be one of those two things. But I'm totally cool with a big epilogue to wrap things up. |

First of all, it's because Westerners are the only one who get hung up on canon at all. In most countries, the writers will ignore the established storyline in a second if they think it makes for a better story without bothing to retcon or reconciling it in any way and no one cares. Westerners tend to want a nice neat consistence storyline with no contradictions and errors. No one else really does. Even other Western countries sometimes care about it less than Americans particularly do.

Recent episode listings show that the TV series does have an ending (a final confrontation with Gamedeus Chronus) in Episode 45, but that there are loose ends - loose ends that become plot points in the movie (one such loose end being Johnny Maxima having the Gashacon BugVisor and a sample of the Gamedeus Virus). The inconsistencies are also being slowly whittled away (Kiriya's white coat, Dan being called 'Kami', and being imprisoned), and if you check, several Japanese Toku sites are keeping track of this 'countdown' - including the Toei pages for each episode. So... Yes, it's 100% canon, whether you like it or not - like W's, Gaim's, Drive's, and Ghost's (it just chooses to take place after the series, rather than during); but at the same time, the series doesn't end on a cliffhanger, it does have its own ending that serves as both a conclusion to the TV series, and a lead-in to the film. Think of it like this. The TV series is the main game, and Emu and co. fulfilled the criteria to access the True Ending, so they get an extra 'Final Final Level' after the contemporary final level. ...So while I wouldn't say 'just an epilogue'...that is the easiest way to categorize it, yes. |

...Whether you think it's 'canon in the western sense' or not, it explicitly is. It's been stated time and again, and has even been confirmed to take place one year after the series - both by Daichi Miura, and Toei's page for Episode 42 (or was it 41?).

Have I mentioned how much I love Kiriya's character?

I was explaining why I, IN THE PAST, assumed that it would be an alternate continuity movie. I also thought I made it quite clear that I now understand it to be an epilogue. My actual post was addressing the question as to why people like me wanted to assume it wasn't cannon, so addressing my actual current point of view was really besides the point, but I did address that and made sure to end with it.

一年ってこんな早いか~ So this episode was stellar and I'll talk about it right after this but man, Ex-Aid is like, ending, isn't it? I know everyone (who's cool) is already sad about that but dang, it didn't actually *hit* me until this episode. At least Build looks cool: - Fun fact: For the past couple weeks I've been holding off on whining about Kiriya no longer having a meaningful role in the show specifically because I figured there'd turn out to be a reason he's back besides being general comic relief when Shin-chan is already around. Glad to be right. He shined here in a way he hasn't for a long time. - Also screw you 新ちゃん I'm never calling you 神ちゃん ya' creep. - I mean come on, while you're off constantly doing weird interpretative dance moves accompanied by repetitive guitar noises, your dad is finding ways to still actually be a threatening(ish) villain somehow. - We've still got 3 episodes, a movie, and another movie to ruin this but I was quite impressed they didn't feel the need to have Gamedeus smack Muteki Ex-Aid around when being unbeatable is right in his name. Instead they just had the fight be a stalemate until Kiriya rides up, which makes way more sense.

...So no, you could have been clearer. I do apologize if I offended you in any way, though. The main reason I responded at all was the bit in the middle that started with 'it'd annoy me if they did that', when...why would that matter? If they do it, its done, and no amount of 'but it pisses me off' will change it. I realize that that was little more than a footnote to your overall point, but I've seen far too many people lately claiming still that it isn't canon...even though it explicitly is (a few months ago yeah, it was still highly ambiguous, but that is no longer the case) for mostly that reason, so I may have been a little shorter in my response than I meant to be, and if that was the case, I apologize most profoundly. |
