Pretty good premiere IMO. I think this is my favorite from the Reiwa series so far.
The action was pretty brutal, and that's always appreciated. I liked the character dynamics shown so far, can't say which one is my favorite yet, but they all left a positive first impression on me. Regarding Vice, I liked him, I was somewhat cautious at first because all that drama people was so fixated on, but he reminds me of Venom from the recent Sony films, which I also like. Always nice to see South America and fellow Latinamericans getting some sort of recognition on foreign media like these shows. Loved that Kuuga opening shot, and the Deadmans introduction reminded me of the old "Fiesta duro" memes xD. There's something about the fight scenes here that made me appreciate the suits even more than I already did that the Saber special episode couldn't seem to achieve, were they different directors for those or something? I'm not good at behind the scenes stuff like that. Pretty excited for the next episode! |

Pretty excited for the next episode! I gotta agree, the action scenes really popped in this episode, the directing really did it for me in this one I wonder if for the crossover they didn't have a lot of time to play around with making the suits really pop? I guess it makes sense though that the head director for revice really wanted to frame the suits as best as he could for the premiere, so maybe it just comes down to Shibasaki giving it his all, he did a great job imo Last edited by TheJaz; 09-05-2021 at 11:15 PM.. |

Based on what I've seen in this first episode, it has me hoping that we'll get a sibling trio of Riders again, since the younger brother is a member of Fenix but has a slight hesitation after seeing what happened to the other dude, and the sister seems to be able to fight pretty damn well on her own.
Main character is solid, demon is kinda annoying. I do hope he gets toned down (Like, I would just naturally assume they'd tone him down as the show goes on, but it's very possible they go the Den-O route and ramp up all the monster side kick's antics). I do enjoy reluctant heroes, and it seems our hero for this season is going to have to learn to pull himself away from the bathhouse and basically babysitting his entire family (As he's both given up on soccer and briefly being a rider). Action was nice. Fast paced with dynamic camera angles to keep it from getting stale. I hope Vice keeps his wrestling style. With so many Riders being martial artists or blade masters, it's not often we get to see a rider straight up piledrive a monster Day of the Dead enemies are neat. It's been more interesting than Saber's intro, but I'm not exactly immediately drawn in, but hey, it's looking promising. I do hope the giant 50 on his belt has an actual in show meaning.

Our main character having a history with soccer is honestly a genius excuse to have him be good at kicking, as demonstrated in the first episode. It's subtle, but it also works as a fun homage being an anniversary season and all. Zero-One was definitely a culmination of a Rider who had an affinity for kicking, but at the same time it was a little off-putting since there's no real headcanon you can really come up with to justify Aruto caring for that.
I love the little homages and references to previous Kamen Riders, but it works infinitely better when you try to work it into the narrative as opposed to doing it just to do it. Last edited by Chasing; 09-06-2021 at 01:10 AM.. |

I'm not holding my breath, purely based on everything prior I've seen of them.
Especially given they were trying to be the main Saber Subs aside from Tv-Nihon, and well, we saw how that ended up. |

While it's interesting to see GenmSubs suddenly show up to do this, and it's usually nice to have options, I won't lie I have a lot more faith in IzuSubs actually finishing the show
(Also I just personally don't like GenmSubs much at all, idk if this is a controversial opinion lol? Are they popular?) |

I've never had an issue with them myself? Always seemed good. Though admittedly I'm not sure I notice many problems with modern subgroups; the only times I tend to have problems are with subs from like a decade ago that are still the only stuff you can find for Showa seasons
