This is the other mecha/Dragon the title reminds me of.

Which also lets the dragonized Ranger forms potentially ride full dragon forms too. But I really want to see that Rory Mercury and Gore Magala done as a ranger suit with the costume detailing mixed in and a more dragon feral helmet style. Kind of like Nai and Mare as Rangers with their costumes implemented into Ranger suit detailing. That clawed glove and boot presents so much potential for cool and action scenes, while also covering elements of various "don't judge by appearance" and other children's morals. There's something way too cool on the designs of merging all of that. Makes it too cool not to do. Also. "Kill it with fire!" is so going to become a sentai meme for this series. Any collectible gimmicks?
And how would you picture the dragons? Somewhere in the lines of Dragons: Riders of Berk and Dragon Booster? Like elements? Dragon classes? Hybrid of animals? |

But I'm thinking the Rangers themselves will be dragons, so not sure overall. The collectible could be anything from essence of a dragon spirit type capsule, a coin to represent treasure dragons often guard in games, gems, or anything at all really. Scales seem the most likely if it also includes the Rangers themselves as Dragons. It's a collectible type that hasn't been done, it's cool, and and something unique. So a changer that channels that to allow them to create a Knight Dragon form that might also be emotions controlled for how "dragoned out" it becomes could be interesting. Really liking the concept of a "Frenzy mode" where it has the clawed armored arms and legs like the Gore Magala. But that shouldn't be the standard form that likely needs to be more friendly looking. So similar to ZyOhger in that way. But design-wise, I'm really hoping for a more gothic approach with color flair per ranger color. With Dragon head style helmets with the visor in the mouth, with maybe no mouth guard. Kind of like Rio's Lion armor helmet but with more fangs. Kind of like the CG TMNT foot ninja motorcycle helmet, or Dark Buster with the full face plate done as a visor. There was another old piece of artwork that had a similar design like that in black and purple with silver fanged teeth trim that'd work too. But I'm definitely hoping for something a bit more design fun in those areas of Gothic attire with the skin tones changed to a solid color tights underneath. And maybe one like Melee's dress done in that way too. And I'm hoping for some mixed weapons. Some that are sleek and streamlined small and variable, like the Core Magala dual swords to bow, but then also some big Monster Hunter style things like Rory Mercury's battle axe, and I hope they vary it up more so it's something that's ranger quirky with being non-expected sized character to weapon for some better dynamic and fun poses. Dragon Scales would be an interesting approach. Teeth or other anatomy like skulls or eyes might be too morbid. But scales seem about right since that'd smell like a dragon and they could likely molt anyway in the process of growing up.

Kind of want a dual pistol style hero too. But definitely should have a combo dragonfang side arm that goes to dagger mode and gun mode, which can also combine to weapons. But full team combo weapons should likely vary some. Maybe divide that up so the dragon fangs can join to the bow dual blades, but individual weapons otherwise stay to the wielder. So that way the team can use their weapons while the combined one is in use. So we have team work but also individual work, showing multitasking. Also like the idea of the individual weapons being available for the dragon mechs, and the idea that then they can combine for the combined mecha weapon. Similar to Magi in that regard. That's about all I got on guesses/wants. Mostly it's the 3 fem I want to see. Escape was such a tease in the Kyu movie. And for Japan, we're really missing out on some good costuming considering how amazing Mele's dress was, and other Gothic designs have been. We've never really gotten ranger outfits in that kind of fun aesthetic. Really sad we missed out on Nai and Mare not getting individual ranger suits either. Those would have been neat to see. Mouth guards with lips I kind of want to skip for now, but up to them really. I figure we'll get more of that later anyway with the 30th of Zyu coming up, so this should lean more on the Magi/Gogo V style of full face visor. But I tend to be more partial to the Beast Demon Hunter Sieg type visor style. More the shorts style on Nai/Mare, less on the skirt, but do like the potential in the sleeve styles too. Should go with the standard 5 to start, with aux 6th, and extra hero. Maybe pull a Kyu/SPD with the 6th being someone that mentors at the start. Like how MagiWhite started too. For this motif, kind of want 3 fem and 4 male. So we can get the dual pistol female, dual sword/bow female, and Battle axe petite female. With the 4 male being other various knight style weapons too. Potentially playing up MMORPG styles. Like the RO Katar Assassin, dual dagger assassin, a knight with a one handed sword and shield, and maybe some kind of dual handed big sword style like cloud's Sword or that style, and maybe a Halberd spear type.

In HTTYD, they had dragon classes: - Strike Class - Sharp Class - Boulder Class - Stoker Class - Tidal Class - Tracker Class - Mystery Class |

The rest really depends on character personalities. What style they're going for, if they want to use other dragon types or not. Etc. I'd definitely lean on the 6th/originator as connected to the Orochi though. Really no clue though. But the combo idea of an originator and the core 5 as "hatchling hybrids" is an interesting idea. So this way the 6th acts as the lead dragon knight, but with 5 teen dragon kids he's trying to raise. Which presents other fun in dragon hunters or what the Aux hero is as a Dragon from abroad, etc. So that opens up a lot of story avenues too. A little like magi in the family dynamic that way, but could be fun in a very "Dragon Maid" kind of way, like how she stopped a thief once. And the whole idea of "Human dragon hybrids" raised to burn away the dark with their inner fire, does have a lot of connotations about passion lighting the way through darkness. Stoking the inner fire within. Keeping your inside flame/light burning, and how helping others keeps it burning brighter. An entire, "use that fire in your belly to burn away fears and let it roar from inside to a brighter tomorrow." I'd lean on this dynamic personally on the line up: 5 core team as siblings. 2 Fem, 3 male. One fem would be the dual sword Bow, the other fem the battle axe. Then the 3 male I'd split the dual daggers, katar dragon blades, and maybe the big sword. 6th is the main Dragon Knight/father figure. Has the sword from the orochi, possibly either his wife was a Euro Dragon, or one of the few "nice" dragons he knew and a Dragon Hunter slayed her or their real father and their mother was human. So he's a Dragon Hunter from a long lineage who changed his ways and sees not all dragons are the same. That they vary as much as humans. A little DragonHeart in that way some. So now he's raising these 5 halflings he's essentially adopted. I'd have him be the sword and shield style maybe. Possibly some kind of embedded twist too in how he adopted them that comes to light later, and makes them question humans, or him, and how he promised to raise them and has to re-earn their trust. So we get a minor element of that "parents have feet of clay" and the teenage years when kids start to realize that, but learn to accept and love them anyway. (Built this as a parallel to Magiranger too. So Magi focused on single mom, this focuses on single dad. That way it can later do crossover with Magi too.) The 7th I'd make a fem extra hero, using the Mele inspired dress as the basis since she's a dragon halfling from abroad. That's sent to help them, check on them, get further trained by their father figure. She has the dual dragon fang pistols. Potentially I'd have her mecha form be closer to Dairanger Red. But maybe the 8th head and tail of the orochi itself. So she ties back to the lore and the father figure's sword maybe. So a little bit of mystery surrounding her in that regard even she isn't aware of, and a good spot to add a twist to the audience that what they've heard before wasn't the entire truth, that in protecting his 'children' he had left some details out. And then the main 6 would have the Dragon Daggerpistol, but the 7th has a slightly bigger version of that. Like a more shotgun style/escape like while theirs is a little more like Zyublasters maybe. Or she could have a different weapon and they all have dual DragonFang Blasters. But I like the Gokai method some of how they could toss extra gear to each other while they use different gear, while still having a normal extra member that uses dual higher firepower versions developed solely for her. And then I'd toss in some bad guy elements of some kind of infection that needs to be burned away by dragon fire/some kind of shadow infestation that corrupts. Maybe some other elements there of an evil wizard or otherwise style figure that's trying to use the corruption for their own power gain, and manipulations(a merlin or morgana le fey reference? Maybe with Mordred or Sieg, or some other folklore dragon fighter as the support evil generals including Beowulf, Beowulf in particular stands out as a good evil general for them because of his story). So we can also get some "Kill it with fire" type in jokes too. And also would toss in Dragon Hunters that are mixed on trying to wipe out dragons, or recognizing that not all dragons are bad. And how there is a secret order that's raising halflings to burn away the dark/corruption/evil in the hearts of people. Which is where the extra one comes from. So we get some commentary about bias and jumping to conclusions based on appearance or from being born a halfling. Stuff like that. Suits should definitely have a frenzy mode and normal mode, maybe an extended frenzy mode where it risks going out of control and has a tail and wings too, so the suit starts shifting from Ranger to almost MOTW style, borderline Garo like in that regard. Emotions being the factor there, and learning to channel that. How that's also why Dragon Hunters fear them and think them dangerous etc. So a little X-Men like in that regard too. Whereas the Dragon Mecha are more regal like, and they can ride each other in dragon form when in ranger form or Frenzy form, and all the dragons can unite into one Dragon Knight that may also have an additional armored mode from their Father figure's dragon knight mecha. So he armors up their combined form, or they can combine to his knight mecha to grant it dragon aspects more directly. So when he combines to their combined mode, it grants them his Dragon Knight aspects and code of honor, but them combined to his mecha is them granting him access to their dragon natures. No clue on this part, focused more on the Ranger side of things than the mecha. But having Frenzy mode using the mecha dragon as a steed would be fun, and something a little different than the normal piloting a mecha stuff. A little more Magi/Kaku in that regard of they become the mecha instead of driving it. With some light elements of Dairanger riding the mecha, and DragonRanger/Burai's standing atop the mecha. Definitely would consider them having an Orochi mecha, which would be neat to have the 7th abroad member interact with and how that'd become the "full combo" carrier mecha too. The changer itself, I'd base on a dragon scale maybe. That it allows them to channel their dragon natures into a ranger suit to channel that fire, which is why it's partially emotion controlled. So the dragon scales as a collectible can add some other features based on what kind of dragon scale it is, and how it pulls out wider natures of themselves. But with their father and other Dragon Hunters, the Dragon Scales act as a way for them to combat the strength of a dragon or other elemental/breed aspects. So for the core siblings, it's about a channeling agent, but for humans it's like an enhancement. So we can also get elements of dragon scales aren't always needed for the siblings, but for humans (Kids like you!), the Dragon scales let them attain similar power levels to fight against or alongside the siblings. So some kind of device that can implement that as a scanner/case holder for them like a sample collector, but the main change device is more like something that can hold one scale or two+ at a time to become ranger suits/gear(like a D3 digivice with a storage compact circle piece, and an attachment piece on the side and bachk to attach to all the gear/weapons), and how that might attach to weapons to further power them up. The more than one scale element is for dragon hybridizing/fusions. When it needs aspects of more than one to increase abilities a certain way. With Orochi scales as the 'penultimate' one, or "In case of emergency" since they have a stronger element to them. That would be the super form type. Maybe some elements of dragon gargoyle statues as side mecha power ups. And how this secret order that's harnessing halflings to burn away the dark has hidden support dragon mecha enhancements in architecture throughout the ages and all over the world. Possibly would toss in pet puppy for the siblings too, that's secretly a baby Bahamut, and it has a mecha form besides it's baby dragon form. So it can become a massive mecha bahamut dragon steed for them when their mecha is in Full combined mode. Though maybe make the Bahamut a kitty instead since a dragon puppy has been done. And there's something cute about a kitty with dragon wings and what it might chase. Tough choice though because of "Baha-MUT". But the additional aspect of their pet pure dragon that's more animal like being their big support mecha upgrade before the full reveal of orochi carrier would be neat too, and add to that as well as give the Father Figure/6th additional support mecha when he needs to save their butts and needs a dramatic reveal before other major dramatic reveals. Plus it'd give him a "Frenzy mode upgrade" too when in ranger form since he's not a hybrid human/dragon like them. I think that's about all I got for now. But one of the things it should also consider is some side nods embedded references to previous series that had Dragons too, and a crossover special that features that. So some small nods to Zyu's Dragon Ranger, Dairanger, and Magi would make sense. Maybe Nin too, or anything else that had a dragon of various types. But that's if this were me designing it. This could also go complete isekai ranger style too though. More like Gaim and other popular fantasy anime of today like SAO, and Log Horizon, and Final Fantasy or other similar types.
