This feels like they were under-represented tonight! I honestly thought that something was coming for us, and yet this feels...underwhelming!
Even if newer figures are not ready for display, show some videos with prototypes or describe what the toyline will entail and how things will interact with each other! Also, couldn't they have displayed some of the remaining Super Ninja Steel product (assuming they have the rights to do so from Bandai)!? Almost every other franchise was represented in some capacity, but that just wasn't to be for P.R.! NOT A GOOD START, HASBRO!!! YOU'RE BETTER THAN THIS!!! P.S.: Kinda curious why they were advertising MMPR White Ranger with video footage! Technically speaking, the 25th Anniversary Debut of the White Ranger is NEXT YEAR, so does the bland representation here...mean something Hasbro isn't telling us, or was that just to say "Got no new toys, but look at this pretty suit and show footage you've seen for over 20 years!"? It's best that we wait until we hear some more news from Hasbro later today. |

Ehh, I just assumed they are gonna go full force with the merch at Morphi Con when I saw the pic at page 1.

Next year though, then we may see some big stuff and have some big stuff talked about. Right now it's too early in the production cycles. With less than 4 months in, there is nothing to show as yet. Let alone talk about. Next year though as they've had the license for over a year, big things should be shown and talked about. The video reel and suit is basically Hasbro saying "We have the license now, so come to our booth next time/next year if you want to see Power Rangers stuff. We aren't going to let fans down and care about the history of it." Including even getting Jason David Frank to sign autographs. So give them some time to get some plans together to show off. Barely 4 months in, and they've probably barely fully internally restructured and gotten a toy design team together, and developed plans. Barely at the sculpting or prototype stages. So stuff that probably can't even leave a designers desk intact as yet. Unless you want to see a lump of half sculpted clay that doesn't even look like a putty patrol character let alone a ranger. Not really anything that would have built hype for a fan convention. And if they did show that, fans would complain and make memes about how Hasbro "half assed it and aren't taking power rangers seriously." Depending on the date. That'd make sense. They'd likely want a bigger presence there. Though this could be more towards Saban's send off Morphicon, same to Bandai. With Hasbro showing off at least a few mild Beast Morphers things if production cycle timing allows. Last edited by Librarian; 07-23-2018 at 04:41 PM.. |
