I wish it had been Haim Saban.

There have been some... allegations against Haim in recent years. I can't account to the validity of such claims, but I also don't want to hate myself cause he owns something I like if it is true.
As for Hasbro, they're seriously starting to drop the ball. Cosmic Fury's one redeeming aspect was the story, but even that doesn't change the fact that it was short and underdone. There was never an intended toyline from all appearances, despite the new suits they were so proud of. And there is an indication that the Jonathan Entwistle Reboot that we know very little about is stuck in development hell, and Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury were merely stopgaps to keep the franchise alive. Plus...another teen-to-adult reboot which could save or destroy the franchise! There's reason to be a little scared. Hasbro has to come correct with this reboot. Even then, abandoning the main continuity doesn't sit well. |

Saban is up there with the same level of abuse as what’s found at Nickelodeon. The less he has to do with Power Rangers the better. Hasbro has done surprisingly worse with the franchise than what Disney did with it. It’s time for a new studio and a fresh start. I recommend an NBCUniversal acquisition of the franchise to exploit the theme park potential to fund a higher TV and film series budget, and give creative control to a team that includes David Yost, fans who grew up with Power Rangers from 1993-2009, and a consultant who is an expert on Super Sentai. Revamp the show with a better adaptation of Gokaiger but film new material and create a unique team of Privateers as the protagonists to the pirate antagonists. Which would be more playful rivalries than full on opposition. Include references to both classic Power Rangers and Super Sentai seasons. Revisit old megazords and have MacFarlane produce collectible megazords similar to the original toys but with slightly more articulation, and maybe lights and sounds to justify the costs. Also include references to Shattered Grid comics with a follow up series and films based on Shattered Grid, and produce a spin-off retro series that explores Sentai teams that never got adapted to Power Rangers. This is nothing that complicated. It just requires love and respect from creatives that adore the franchise

But isn't NBCUniversal also a subsidiary of Disney?
