I watched the Gold Storm Sho movie recently. It was good. Nothing extravagant or amazing but a pretty good film. I liked Ago's armor design, it was a pretty cool looking mechanical samurai-like design. The fight scenes were pretty good and I enjoyed them.
The only problems that I had were: 1. The plot was predictable 2. Ago is bland. I know he's suppose to be an almost-emotionless machine-like being but he is bland. 3. They give no explanation in the film as to why Garo changes into Garo Sho after it's purified, only giving a reason why it needed to be purified (unless I missed something while watching it). I had to look in the page for the Garo Armor on the Garo Wiki for an explanation (it was because of the built up Jaki, causing it to change during the purification) Overall, it was a good film. Not as good as some previous Garo films but it was enjoyable. |

Just watched the Gold storm movie on YouTube this morning.Honestly, I was dissapointed. The fights were good when they were executed but I honestly, wanted to see more Garo you know. I also noticed that when the armour got purified the appearance changed from that of Kouga and Raiga's armour but to this all new armour that was seen in the most recent serious that was just completed. Anyways, at its best I would give the movie a 2.5 out of 5. I really wanted to see agou and Garo go for a nice long and exaggerated battle but that doesn't happen here.
Also, I wonder who the Makai knight was in the first few minutes of the film; He looked like Zero but with a cape and had an Golden aura along with a Garo like sword. i guess some other high ranking knight. Wouldn't mind seeing a figure on him. |

I totally didn't put that together. I just assumed it was a past Garo but looking closer, the armor is definitely Zero's but with a different sword, cape and golden aura/colour.

Fun movie. Nothing especially revolutionary with it, but it was a pretty enjoyable way to kill 90 minutes. I do wish I'd seen it before the series, if for no other reason than to make the preview during the credits way less boring, but it didn't really add much to the whole Gold Storm experience. The context for Agou's cameo near the end of the show was pretty cool, but I was really hoping for some explanation for whatever the hell is up with Yukihime. Ah well.
No more Garo for awhile (unless the second cartoon is much better than the first). |

Yea, a part of me wanted to assume it was Barago/Kiba. They did say that his armor got corrupted the more and more he fed on horrors. Either way, would hope a lil more infor comes out on him in the future. |

GARO Gold Storm Shou Movie: That was definitely a lot of fun. Ryuuga and Rian's fights were Devil May Cry style flashy and ridiculous that I absolutely loved. Agou was interesting to see a Madou Tool fight like that, I mean Mayuri was pretty cool but wasn't something like Agou. I hope they bring in something like him to a series I could see that be an intriguing addition. I could tell that he was possessed by something because he wouldn't go rogue like he did by himself I think. Enjoyed meeting D Ringo, Ryume, and the Others; definitely makes the show make a whole lot more sense. It felt like it was just a longer episode of GARO it really didn't do much but it was still a good action film. Loved seeing how he got the more upgraded armor too and seeing a lot of things they used in the later half of the series were from the movie too. So Overall I hope this isn't the last thing I see of Ryuuga and Rian but they are definitely some of my favorite pairings in GARO. Well I can't wait for the next Live Action series whenever that is, but off to the new Anime now.
