Well a random dragon encounter helped me get my fire breath shout just in time for me to face the frost troll at the near top of High Hrothgar.

What's worse is that I ran into a snow saber cat on the way up. Let's just say I died twice to it and on the third attempt I just stood on a cliff and took shots at it with my bow as it struggled to attack me. With the frost troll I just used fire breath at least 3-4 times while at the same time hitting it with my swords then running while it was trying to hit me.

Croft 13 puts a lot of emphasis on stealth but I've been playing it like an action game and nothing seems lost in doing it. Well okay, not exactly, half the story is the fact that Lara doesn't want to be killing all these people but it kinda detracts from that when you can set people on fire and level a whole room of dudes with a machine gun. Oh well, it's fun.
The main strength is in the platforming though. That might sound obvious for a Tomb Raider title but I'm really not a big platforming guy so I was shocked by how smooth and pick up and play the platforming is in this game. I feel yet to be punished for my lack of platforming ability. It also helps that they give you such rich environments to explore. This island is full of mystery, horror and history and rewards your exploration. I love the way you can literally raid tombs, finding hidden locations and just poking around for rewards both physically but also in terms of more gleams into the story and characters.

It's not a bad game to me. It is being heavily criticized right now for graphics but hoooly shit man... THAT IS NOT A JUDGE OF A GOOD GAME. That said, they're totally fine anyways! It's definitely like people are just searching for something to complain about. I just die a lot. Any side mission I try to do results in me getting swarmed and peppered with bullets within seconds, so I clearly have to work on my stealth skills. (But that's still pretty hard in some cases, like the mission I gave up on last night before posting that where you have to take down - but not kill - two men in cars. Who are part of a convoy of a gang that all jump out to immediately shoot you. In the wide open street. Which then attracts police. Quickly. So you get surrounded fast with no cover.) But the world is nice and entertaining. NPCs not only react to what you're doing but even just do random things with each other... Like making out at a bus stop, or walking down the sidewalk and all of a sudden yelling after a car because she totally knew the driver. It feels alive and that's awesome.

Man Watch_Dogs sounds like my worst nightmare, I hate games with artificial difficulty like that. What platform you playing it on? I've heard the game performs a lot better on next gen consoles, which I guess is an obvious thing to say but it looks like performance on current gen has broken the game for some people.

Beaten all three modes of Xtreme 2 (X, Zero and the titliar Xtreme) so right now I'm thinking about getting practice for Brawl with the Classic Controller in case the new Gamecube controllers with adapter turns out to be a bust or go back to DKC TF.
