Okay, it took a long time and I went way more in-depth than I needed to, but I finally finished my idea for the Kowai Sentai Monstranger! I'm making a new thread to avoid putting too much in the "create your own Sentai" thread.
Monsters. Frightening creatures that once stalked the night, now living among humanity in secret and in peace. But now, for unknown reasons, monsters are going berserk and attacking humans uncontollably, and a team of young monsters must rise up to protect both humanity and their own kind! These are the Kowai Sentai Monstranger! Initial team: - The vampire, Monster Red! Drack, a charming playboy who always tries to look cool and falls in love with every cute girl (or sometimes guy) he meets, but when push comes to shove he's a brave fighter who'll give his all to protect the people he cares about. He spent the past several years abroad, didn't know about the berserking monsters and wasn't originally picked to be a Monstranger, but he jumped in to save Sparky in a difficult battle, and his charisma and heroism made him the natural leader of the team. As the war goes on, he and Yuriko gradually fall in love, and eventually he and Hikaru team up to rescue her. His pre-battle catchphrase is telling the enemy "we'll show you how real monsters [insert activity related to the episode]." - The mummy, Monster Yellow! Cleo Pharaoh, a ladylike warrior who trained since birth to be a champion against evil, she acts like she's better than everyone else and has the skills to back up her pride, but sometimes pushes herself too far trying to prove she's the best. She's descended from mummy royalty, and her family are the ones who started the Monstranger project when they realized monsters were going berserk, so she often butts heads with Drack over leadership. She has a very strained relationship with her father Ramses, but after she's captured by enemies they both realize the importance of family, and work to fix their relationship. - The frankenstein, Monster Pink! Sparky, an occult science nerd, she fangirls excitedly over all the strange phenomena caused by monster powers and will go on long, excited, and highly technical rants that no one else understands, but can be airheaded about anything that doesn't involve her interests. She used to be apprenticed to a lich, Doctor Grim, until he mysteriously disappeared, and now she works on improving the Monstrangers' gear to keep up the legacy of her mentor. She has a crisis of faith when she realizes Grim is the mastermind behind monsters going berserk, but resolves to keep fighting for the ideals he taught her to have, instead of following his path into evil. Later rangers: - The werewolf, Monster Blue! Canis, a wanderer who never turns down a fight and goes absolutely berserk if he's angered enough, he can easily come off as a beast but has a strong sense of justice. He was one of the monsters who were originally chosen to become a Monstranger but felt the duties they expected him to follow were too constraining, so he left to fight against the berserk monsters in his own way, until he eventually went berserk himself. After being freed by the other Monstrangers, he accepted that he couldn't fight alone and rejoined the team. He's the only Monstranger who actually becomes friends with Hikaru, finding a kindred spirit in the hunter's raging sense of justice. - The mermaid, Monster Green! Mirage, a quiet wallflower who comes across as cool and aloof, but it's really because she's shy and not good at expressing her feelings. She worked for the Pharaoh family as Cleo's personal maid, and developed a close bond with the princess, for a time they were possibly the only friends each other had. So when Cleo was captured by the enemy, Mirage gathered all her courage and the fighting skills she'd picked up from their sparring matches, and joined the Monstrangers to rescue her friend. She actually has a crush on Cleo, but is too shy to confess that to anyone, although Drack figures it out. Sixth hero: - The dark knight, Kowai Kishi Monster Hunter! Hikaru Miyagi, an intense yet kindhearted man who's the head of a successful tech company by day, but by night he dons a suit of powerful armor to seek out and destroy monsters. He mostly targets evil ones, but won't hesitate to attack good monsters if he decides they pose a threat, so depending on the situation he can be either an enemy or an uneasy ally to the Monstrangers. He's a good person at heart but carries a deep hatred of all monsters, especially vampires after one of them killed his sister Yuriko, and ironically this desire for revenge makes him very vulnerable to manipulation by Doctor Grim.

Now for the villains, a sinister nameless faction who works in the shadows to bring a return to the Dark Age when humans and monsters fought for survival.
- Doctor Grim, a lich and brilliant occult scientist who's the mastermind behind the monsters going berserk. He created a power-up potion that makes monsters stronger, but taking too much will fill them with uncontrollable rage. He presents himself as polite and reasonable, and seeks out other monsters who also want to hunt humans to try and convince them to join his cause willingly, but if someone refuses him he won't hesitate to trick, bribe or threaten them into doing what he wants, or just drug them with his potions. He was Sparky's mentor in the past, and used to work for the good of all monsters, but now his goal is to bring a second Dark Age which will wipe out humans and weak monsters alike, so that only the strongest monsters remain. - Yuriko Miyagi, the ghost of Hikaru's younger sister, she was killed by a vampire and then resurrected by Doctor Grim and forced to work for him as part of a scheme to manipulate Hikaru. She's afraid of monsters despite now being one herself, and only fights when she has no other choice. She appears before defeated monsters and injects them with a regrowth potion to revive them as giants, and before discovering Grim's involvement the Monstrangers thought she was the mastermind. After being rescued by her brother and Drack, she technically becomes the sixth Monstranger, Monster White, but because of her fear of fighting she only joins in battle as a last resort. - Zero, a zombie who prides himself on being Doctor Grim's "better than number one assistant." He's extremely loyal to Grim, but will bully or betray other members of their faction if he feels they're a threat to his position. He was originally looked down on by other monsters for being weak, but Grim experimented on him to give him more power, including the ability to rapidly clone himself, and he serves as footsoldiers to support Grim's schemes. His mind is shared between all the clones, so he can survive even if his original body is killed, but as a downside the more bodies his brainpower is divided between, the less intelligent each one gets.

Some other recurring characters, because every Sentai needs a supporting cast. I tried to develop them enough that they'd be at least somewhat interesting, but they wouldn't get much focus, their character arcs would be done either as subplots in the background or one single focus episode:
- Ramses Pharaoh, a mummy king and Cleo's father, and the commanding officer of the Monstranger project. He acts stern and distant, even towards his own daughter, and lets the rangers mostly handle things themselves while he's busy with monster politics. However, he takes his duty to protect monsterkind very seriously, and the real reason he keeps the Monstrangers at a distance is so he won't worry about sending them into danger. When Cleo is captured, he actually panics at the thought of never getting to reconcile with her. - Webster, a large talking spider (roughly hand-sized) who knows a lot about monster folklore and likes to tell fun facts about other monsters he encounters, which sometimes gives the Monstrangers useful information but is sometimes just trivia. He's been Drack's companion for as long as the vampire can remember, serving a role somewhere between an advisor and a pet. Later on, he becomes poisoned with power-up potion and goes berserk, then consumes the regrowth potion as well and grows into the more monstrous Gigant Webster. The Monstrangers are able to save him, but he retains the ability to turn into Gigant Webster. - TA.I.yo (pronounced "taiyo"), an artificial intelligence created by Hikaru to aid him in locating monsters and operating his equipment, appearing onscreen as a sun-shaped face. Its personality is calm and logical, and it often tries to be a voice of reason for Hikaru when his rage against a monster distracts him from the bigger picture. Its knowledge of monster folklore is similar to Webster, enough that the spider sees it as a rival, though TA.I.yo finds the idea of rivalry pointless and mostly ignores Webster's attempts to upstage it. - Koharu Sato, a very ordinary woman who works as a saleswoman at Hikaru's company, though she's never met Hikaru himself. After getting caught in a berserk monster attack, she becomes determined to find out the truth about monsters, and her snooping combined with just bad luck means she repeatedly gets caught up in the battles between the Monstrangers and Grim's faction. At first she reacts like any normal person would, with panic, but she gradually gets used to it and grows braver, and whenever she meets the Monstrangers she asks them a lot of questions. Eventually Hikaru notices her and promotes her to his personal secretary.

Now for their arsenal of transformation devices and weapons! No collectible gimmick, since I couldn't think of one that I liked enough to be worth reworking the other toys to incorporate it.
- Coffin Changer, a coffin-shaped wrist device that serves as the initial Monstrangers' transformation device, tool for summoning their weapons and mecha, and communicator. It can also detach from the wrist and unfold into a pistol as their standard sidearm. - Beast Cage Changer, the new Monstranger's counterpart to the Coffin Changer, with similar functions but a different design. Like the Coffin Changer, it also serves as their sidearm blaster, but stays attached to the wrist instead of changing into a pistol. - Thunder Crasher, a railgun-like team blaster invented by Sparky and formed by combining the initial three Monstrangers' personal weapons. Its finisher is Thunder Dramatic! - Vamp Saber, Drack's personal weapon, a sword that forms the Thunder Crasher's grip and lower rail. - Mummy Rod, Cleo's personal weapon, a spear that forms the Thunder Crasher's barrel and upper rail. - Franken Knuckle, Sparky's personal weapon, a gauntlet that forms the Thunder Crasher's main body. - Storming Thunder Crasher, the Thunder Crasher upgraded by adding the personal weapons of the new Monstrangers. Its finisher is Thunder Storm Dramatic! - Werewolf Claw, Canis's personal weapon, a claw that combines with the Franken Knuckle to form the Storming Thunder Crasher's main body. - Mermaid Arrow, Mirage's personal weapon, a bow that forms the Storming Thunder Crasher's side rails. Having trained together with Cleo, she can also use it as a staff. - Armor Caller, a shield-shaped smartphone with TA.I.yo's face on the screen, it serves as Monster Hunter's transformation device, tool for summoning his weapon and mecha, and monster detection system. It can attach to the Knight Daybreaker to activate special attacks. - Knight Daybreaker, Hikaru's personal weapon, a combination sword and shotgun. With the Armor Caller attached, its finishers are the Solar Breaker, Metal Breaker and Water Breaker. It lacks the raw power to finish off monsters with brute force, so Hunter has to select a finisher that exploits the monster's weakness. - Ghost Rose Saber, a rose that Drack initially gave to Yuriko as a symbol of his promise to rescue her, and later on when it looked like all hope was lost, she threw it back to him to restore his will to fight. Miraculously, their combined powers caused the rose to grow into a sword, and granted Drack a super form: The vampire's heart, Monster Red Rose! The Ghost Rose Saber also has its own finisher, Rose Requiem!

And last but certainly not least, their mecha! The Monstranger's individual mecha are called DaiMons, from "dai" meaning big/great, plus mon from monster, and a play on the word demon.
- KowaiOh, the combined robo of the initial three Monstrangers, it's built slimmer and more flexible than most combined robos. Its arsenal includes a sword formed from the Cobra DaiMon's tail and a sonic screech fired from its chest. - Bat DaiMon, Drack's personal mecha, it forms KowaiOh's head and chest. - Cobra DaiMon, Cleo's personal mecha, it forms KowaiOh's arms, back and sword. - Gorilla DaiMon, Sparky's personal mecha, it forms KowaiOh's legs and lower body. KowaiOh can also equip one of the later Monstrangers' mecha in place of its right arm to gain a new weapon. In these forms, the sword arm moves to the back and acts as a scarf-like decoration. - Wolf DaiMon, Canis's personal mecha, it forms an arm with large claws, upgrading the combination into Howl KowaiOh. - Shark DaiMon, Mirage's personal mecha, it forms an arm with a built-in crossbow, upgrading the combination into Splash KowaiOh. - Daikaiju KowaiOh, the combined robo of all five Monstrangers' DaiMons and Gigant Webster. The Bat and Gorilla DaiMons keep the same positions, but the Cobra moves to reinforce the legs, while Gigant Webster forms the back and shoulders along with a new helmet, with the Wolf and Shark each forming an arm. It can use both the claws and the crossbow, or combine them into a greatsword called Kowai Scimitar. - Armored Hunter, Hikaru's personal mecha piloted with TA.I.yo's help, it can transform between the humanoid Battle Mode armed with a heavy cannon, and the supercar Pursuit Mode powered by a rocket engine. In Battle Mode it can equip the Wolf or Shark DaiMons onto its right arm to form Howl Hunter or Splash Hunter, and after being severely damaged, it's rebuilt and upgraded into Shining Armored Hunter.
