I just finished watching the Ohranger movie, and oddly enough, I loved it. This thing gets a lot of flack, but I think it's just misunderstood. The movie is sentai taken to an absurd extreme. It reminded me a lot of Richard Lester's Beetles movies from the 60s, in the way they consciously flaunt logic in favor of a parade of cool imagery and surreal situations. Like, it felt a lot like if Jodorowsky or Leos Carax were hired to direct an extended Sentai episode.
Plus, seeing Ohranger's consistently incredible action in Blu-Ray quality HD video is a treat. This movie is definitely not for everyone, but I found it highly enjoyable. |

I was pretty disappointed with ToQger Returns too. It had some really touching moments, but ToQ #7 was an utterly pointless addition, the new villain was mostly forgettable and the whole Tank Top Shadow thing seemed a bit dumb even for ToQger standards.
The 12-person roll call was SO GOOD though.

Just started Go-Onger, and I'm loving it. I was a bit perplexed with the engines at first, but they're growing on me.
I have to say, now that I have a couple of sentai under my belt, the tropes are easier to spot now, and each series really has its own strange-ness to make it unique. I'm 4 episodes in, and I'm already loving how Renn is always making eggs, and Hanto is just so....fun loving??!?!?

Up to episode 32 of Carranger and I am absolutely in love with this show so far. I love how its comedy is delivered and how the story is progressing. Signalman is one of my absolute favorite supporting characters now and the whole Carranger team is just so incredibly likeable.

I'm on the fence about starting Carranger now or waiting until MFC finishes up Ohranger. I kinda want to wait to see how Ohranger ends before diving into Carranger, since it's such a reaction to that show -- but I'm antsy without any Super Sentai to binge! Argh! haha |

That's awesome to hear! I'm about to start up Carranger pretty soon myself and have been wondering what people in The Fandom think about it.
