For 20 years, the Power Rangers have protected the Earth from all evildoers. Whether they be aliens, witches, robots, an evil team of rangers, demons, and even mutants. The Power Rangers have always defended the world from all of the evil within the world, and have come out on top countless times. And they are powerful. Only the best of the best have the honor of becoming a ranger. But who is the most powerful? Which of these warriors are the best of the best? The ones that have done the most to defend the Earth. The ones that are the deadliest? This tournament is here to finally set in stone who out of the 20 years of Power Rangers is the deadliest. The fights will be brutal, the strategies will be thought provoking, and the outcomes will be definite. There can be only one Deadliest Ranger! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Each battle will take place as one on one scenarios. Each ranger will have with them all of their signature weapons and skills from the point in time they are being discussed. Along with their ranger abilities, their civilian ones will be put on the line as well. Each fight will be decided under the rule of most votes towards one ranger. All voting will be done in discussion, as to give each character an equal chance at victory instead of a popularity contest. This is why all of these bouts will be decided WITHOUT any polls. The only way to vote is to discuss it. The subjects of discussion will be simple. Each battle will have an equal number of categories for each ranger in it. These categories will be: - Weaponry - Civilian powers and skill (such as fighting skills, and any special powers they have) - The amount of armor of their suit - How the suits look visually Weaponry in itself will be divided into different categories. Those are: - Basic weaponry (such as a standard blaster or sword) - Signature weapon - Special Weapon - Ultimate Weapon Also, each battle will take place in an environment that suits both rangers. This way, it gives a sense of a battlefield strategy to the fights. Now with the formalities out of the way, let the fight begin! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Red Bracket - Round 1 Our first round combatants are: Carter Grayson - Red Rescue Ranger (Lightspeed Rescue) VS Jack Landors - S.P.D. Red Ranger (S.P.D.) Each ranger is skilled in the arts of protection of cities and lives in the form of a military/police force, making them the perfect opponent for each other. Both in skill and weapons. And in those, they bring a similar but very different arsenal. To the fight in weaponry, Carter comes with: Basic Weapon: Rescue Blaster Signature Weapon: Rescue Claw Special Weapon: V-Lancer Ultimate Weapon: Thermo Blaster And on Jack's side, he comes in with: Basic Weapon: Delta Blasters Combo Signature Weapon: Canine Cannon Special Weapon: Delta Enforcer Ultimate Weapon: None For this battle, the two combatants will face off in a downtown area of a city. The city has been attacked. Buildings, cars, and even the street are on fire due to the attack. Buildings are beginning to crumble. This makes the perfect battlefield for two special force rangers. The ultimate battle of special force reds is upon us. Who will win? The brave and courageous firefighter? Or the street smart and cunning psychic? The battle's decision is in your hands. Let combat begin!

With all the hazards of a destroyed city, Carter has an advantage in mobility. As a firefighter, he has undergone training on how to quickly navigate an unstable burning building without causing damage that would trap him or a victim he is carrying to safety.
Jack could phase through debris, but his parkour might not be the best for urban Armageddon. Jack has superior firepower, but Carter's Thermo Blaster can spread existing flames and create a trap. Then there's the purpose of rescue workers and cops in disaster aid. Cops, while capable of preforming rescues, are there more to keep order and restrain frightened civilians for their own safety. They help with evacuation and maintaining order. Rescue workers on the other hand are trained to enter the heart of darkness. They are trained to go into a disaster zone, quickly assess the situation repeatedly, find openings in rubble where someone may be trapped, preform emergency medical services if need be, and find as many people as possible in the shortest time possible. In this battlefield, a cop cannot best a fireman. Carter. Last edited by GoseiWonder; 07-27-2013 at 02:31 PM.. |

Hazards mean nothing to Jack, who can phase through walls. Sure Carter has his skills as a firefighter but if the floor goes, or fire blocks his path he basically has nothing, Jack can run right through it - even if he couldn't, Jack is just a better mover, he'd probably just run on the wall and over a fire. This is important because if Jack and Carter have the variable of innocents to protect, I'd actually think Jack could take them further even without Carter's skills. So I'm going with Jack here.
In a straight fight, I'd go with Jack again. Carter may have the better arsenal as all the SPD Rangers really got were bigger guns each time but Jack worked those guns like they were extensions of himself. Honestly with kind of skill he showed with his Delta Blasters, I'm not sure he'd even need anything else to take Carter down and he'd do it all with style. So yeah, Jack overall I think.

My vote goes to good old Carter. With the environment I listed, I think both of them could do well. But Carter to me at least would have a bit more of an advantage due to him being trained to respond to situations like this to rescue people. And in a battle, I think it would help. He's trained to weave in and out of debris and fire to save people, through those skills in when it comes to strategy and fighting and I think he could have the battlefield on his side. Jack as stated can phase in and out, but it doesn't mean he can easily gain advantage when it comes to moving. His parkour would come in handy here, but I'm pretty sure fire beats man.
When it comes down to weapons, both are fairly equal in my opinion, but Carter wins in the weapon department. Mostly because he has a bit more of a variety. Jack, and the rest of S.P.D. as a whole just kept getting upgraded guns. Carter and Lightspeed got guns as well, but they were very versatile. The standard Rescue Blaster could switch from gun to sword mode, and the V-Lancers could do this as well but on a bigger stage. Plus, the Rescue Blaster and Thermo Blaster play well off of each other. The RB can act as a fire extinguisher, and the TB is able to produce more flames. Carter can easily use one to trap the opponent in, and the other to set himself free. Now in all fairness, Jack does have the advantage of his weapons being more useful in a range fight. But if he gets too close, he's gotta deal with the V-Lancer, which as we've seen is just OP. Taking in their civilian skills, Gosei said it best. Carter was trained to deal with any type of rescue emergency, while Jack was trained as a simple police officer. This gives Carter the immediate advantage of being able to handle any situation whether it be a dangerous environment such as a burning and collapsing building, or a simple forest. Jack may have psychic powers that let him phase in and out, but sooner or later you're gonna get caught. Hand to hand combat though I'd give to Jack. Being a police officer, he was trained to deal with any type of hostile situation. So I think he'd win in a straight up street fight with no weapons. But as a whole, Carter wins it for me. He has the better training to deal with the battleground and situation given, has a more versatile arsenal which allows for long ranger and short range combat, as well as getting him out of any binds while setting a trap or two, and while Jack's arsenal has a bit more of a kick to it and he can phase in and out, Carter just brings more well balanced arsenal and better strategic thinking to the fight. Point goes to Carter for me.

To be fair, speaking specifically of civilian training we never really see or establish Jack's training, it's entirely on the job however Carter is an established Fireman from the beginning so I guess on that level Carter would win as he was always a hero, Jack was just chosen because of his powers.
In a fist fight, I reckon Jack'd take it as he's lived on the streets, he's had it rough and so I assume he's had to handle himself in a fight probably quite a few times, and possibly superpowered aliens as well, so Jack takes this point. So Jack still takes it for me.

Jack may have fought super powered aliens, but Carter fought demons. I'm fairly certain in the villain hierarchy, demons are above aliens, no matter how powerful they are.

Oh of course, but in Jack's life aliens are just another part of it. So Carter's demon battling was on the job while Jack has been fighting aliens and super powered beings his whole life one can safely assume.

True. I suppose as far as pure fighting goes, he does have the win in that category. But I'm still sticking with Carter.

That is where I'm now struggling, when I think about it.
Because before being a Ranger, Carter was a hero so inherently that makes him the better Ranger. But given the life Jack led, and the kind of world he lives in, before he was a Ranger he was a fighter and a practical thinker, who was world weary to be realistic about things. So he may not make for the better hero, maybe not even the better Ranger, but as an all out warrior I'd say he comes out on top. Does a natural hero make him a winner? Or should the warrior with the heart of gold take it instead? I'll stick with Jack still for now.

Did Jack ever go head to head with a monster with a butt load of explosives willing to detonate them at the risk of his life? DIDN'T THINK SO!... CARTER WINS!
