Yeah the actual figure looks good, and well articulated, but it's just a shame because Arms Change does its best to capture the actual show gimmick and make it through cost effective engineering so it can be applied to toy form. So it seems kinda disappointing since this...doesn't, even though it has the more simple gimmick out of the two.

Yeah Arms Change is a real outlier when it comes to budget/mass market gimmick lines like this. They are rarely as solid, dare I say never as solid, as those.
The ToQger gimmick is just too difficult to recreate in toy form. Each figure would need to include alternate skirts to put on/remove, and need to be able to collapse the arms and legs to make them shorter, and flatten the chest out when necessary to facilitate accurate Transfers. The compromise they've given us hear is decent but still falls short of making it a great toy.

That doesn't sound that hard to me though, you could have a clippable skirt piece and then an extra joint in the legs that allows you to clip the leg upwards to shorten it which would be disguised by the skirt piece. The arms may end up being a little long, but if you've got them posed with their weapons you aren't likely to notice the scale issues too much.

I just wish the damn weapons could combine. They are utterly useless without that ability. They can be held, that's it. They are thin rubbery pieces of poorly painted black PVC.

What?! You're saying you don't want a whole pile of utterly superfluous and incredibly cheap accessories packaged with your toy that you neither wanted or needed and serve no functional purpose?!
Are you mad?!

Ah. Yeah how about we refrain from jokes in the future at their expense? Not quite appropriate to do that.
