I really enjoyed the episode. The quick pacing made sense to me since thats kind of how it would go in a full scale invasion. The only way they would "fall back" is if a reasonable chunk was done away with and thats what the rangers did. So I had no problems with the pacing.
I really enjoyed the episode and can't wait for the next one. |

I noticed that they credited Ishinomori in the opening video. Have they credited him before or is this a new thing? Regardless, cool that they are.

Warning: Long and with Spoilers, so if you are waiting for the debut or can't get to video working, don't read ahead.
Okay, saw the thing. Could not find it on the actual website so I followed the link. Huh, what does one say? Well for starters, it has everything that made Megaforce difficult to accept. Fast-paced, need for actors, need for writers, need for creativity, and a desperate need for people who care for PR (or least have enough sense to pay attention to fans and continuity). However, that all aside, look at what we do have. A little new footage with them in Megaforce/Goseiger mode fighting new villains, which is a good start and harks back to the days of MMPR (even though Gokaiger went into Goseiger form several times). Troy entering the Command Center does bring up a question: wouldn't Gosei and Tensou have set up external and internal warning sensors in case of enemy attack? With that in mind, why didn't the Empire attack Gosei? Surely they could note such a high energy level from his home base? The introduction of the morphers is rather generic and cute, no real build-up and no old footage to touch on the matter. It's really just: "Here you go, now go do things with this new stuff you might not be able to work properly when you first use it." Jake actually taking a hint with the color change is hilarious and unexpected. Gosei saying that the answer is simple only to get cut off by the Empire is predictable. The battle is pretty straightforward, though Jake makes another Green reference. Gia actually calling an attack a "Saber Whip" is a nice touch though. It should be noted that when they use a set of Ranger Keys, the ones in the Center just glow, they don't vanish or anything. It almost appears like the Rangers have their own set. Good job with the Samurai and Mystic Force references, but the used teams of S.P.D. and Ninja Storm had little dialogue nods to the originals and seemed almost pointless here. The All-Red Ranger Change was indeed notable with the drop of Megaforce/Goseiger in favor of O.O./Boukenger. However, using a blaster and magical fire to create a flaming vortex just doesn't feel right. Then we see the growing and get some cute talks about the differences in the enlarging process and how Zombats are no longer needed. The Sky Ship is summoned, and, yeah, they just up and have new vehicles all of a sudden. No cute little explanation or anything, it's just, there, complimenting the new powers. We have Megazord battle and well, victory. And yes, they did retain the Gokai Starburst as the "Super Mega Starburst". Yes, they did keep part of the name. All in all, I would rate it as "Fair-to-Good". Not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, and I have my own ideas about how one could do this whole thing. However, the battles do make one momentarily feel like there is some potential here. This season will, hopefully, be truly Super (insert laugh to respond to corny dialogue now). |

ok so thank to my Unblock_US.com accoutn and subscription. was able to watch this on nick.com. and i really enjoyed it. i like the fact some of the thing was adressed and i could see notable new footage as well. but i like how jake was wondering about his could change. and the fact is some case the do say the morph call of the said rangers the change in to but i can see that being a on off thing due to the fact they dont all ways say it. i give it an 4/5 a good use to the footage i think. but yea if you seen gokaiger like i have you can tell they ont match the personalities
