I feel as if Hasbro is trying a few different tactics with this line to see what works. They are trying to top Bandai's legacy line while also doing some things differently.
In this case, it's as if they wanted to get the Psycho Rangers out there to show a direct comparison between the Legacy figure and the Lightning Collection figure. With the MMPR stuff they made sure to not only include their weapons, but also make them combine. They want fans to find something about these figures that they like better so they will rebuy the same characters. Frankly, I think the LC is far above the old Legacy line. I don't know why the figures don't seem to be selling as well as I would think. Series 1 is still kicking around at full price most places, but we still see certain figures sell out during pre-order. This may just be a case of Hasbro putting out a lot of product in the first year or so to make sure these characters are on the pegs as the line continues to build steam. At the end of the day, Power Rangers LC will never reach the level of Marvel Legends in terms of popularity. Marvel is popular right now, more than ever before. Power Rangers peaked in the 90's and will never reach that same level again. It is a kids show and has never broken out of that genre. The only reason I even collect LC stuff is because the figures are good, not because I still watch the shows. |

This set is my favourite Lightning Collection thing so far. I like Lost Galaxy a lot!

In my opinion, this is one of the best executed 2 packs that hadbro has released. The accesories were on point and meaningul, the figures were superbly well done, and they paid homage to a great 2- parter. I wish my local Gamestop had these sets in on launch, but they got them quite later, and even then, most sets they had were plagued with paint smears, errors, and warping on some parts. It took a bit till i found a decent set.

This set was kinda random, but the effect parts were nice and the molds are good.

I really like this set. The flame effect piece is really cool! Here's hoping they'll release the rest of the LG rangers and Psycho rangers individually. As I don't plan on double dipping on the Psycho pack.

Man I really loved this set when it came out, but of course it's now been rendered pretty redundant heh. Still a little miffed with how quickly they made this obsolete, but eh I've still held on to one half of it since I like Leo with the extended Quasar Saber.
