The first female Prime Minster of Japan is revealed to have a startling connection to the RyuSoulgers and has a special favor to ask of Towa & Banba.

Wow, that was a really solid episode. Dealing with suicide as well, that is pretty daring.
Also is it just me or did the quality in the filming spike up ? |

This is a simple and straightforward good episode. I liked it. Also, I appreciate the callback to Asuna being accident prone but lucky. Usually something like that just stays in the episode it appears in and unless it's a consistent character trait (e.g. Doc from Gokaiger being a bumbling coward), it's never brought up again. But they did. Nice.
Next week should be interesting. New Ryusoulger. New power-up form for said Ryusoulger. And what seems to be a new Druidon Tribe general. |

I'm okay with this episode. Maybe because the spotlight was mostly on Banba and whatever his relationship to the PM was.
I like the morbid tinge the episode had going for itself. The whole having to watch your love ones pass while you stay behind and the desire to just end it all. It must be pretty draining emotionally. I wonder if we will see the PM again. Its seems her story is still incomplete. And I'm guessing that the masked man we see in the opening is Towa and Banba's master.

Dang, this was actually really good. They went pretty heavy for the subject matter and didn't try to do some saccharine resolution to "balance" it out, either. I especially love how brutal the reason Bamba gives the Prime Minister to keep living is. It's really true to his character and like with Asuna saving the day through clumsiness it continues a trend Ryusoulger is keeping up of having its characters all get a good amount of attention at once while also being very consistent. See also: Melto telling everybody things aren't going to work.
For the longest time the characters were the main thing I complained about in this show, so I have to give credit where credit is due for what a nice groove they've settled into lately. That'd be weird because they just saw him at the end of episode 3 (I think? It was around the time they were introduced. Maybe 2?), which would make assuming he's dead a little over-dramatic. Of course, we also still have no idea who that guy is, either, so I don't know. It just seems clear whoever Towa and Bamba are talking about has been gone a long while.

It would not be strange, but at the same time Gaisorg screams team member as well for the characters, he also reminds me heavily about "Dark Magic Knight Wolzard" which I assume others have talked about before this.
Same color scheme, same sword and shield look. |

Lets not forget THAT EVERY SINGLE DINO SENTAI had a ranger that started off evil due to different circumstances....
Oh and calling it right now, whoever the user for the gaisorg armor is later in the series, he/she will probably die since again, EVERY DINO SENTAI KILLED OFF ONE OF IT'S RANGERS

Very solid episode. Some really good drama; I loved seeing Banba talking sense into the Prime Minister and also the way they tackled serious subject matter. "I wanna die"... that's pretty haunting for a Sentai show, and I'm glad they didn't resolve this the easy way. It's a pretty heavy conflict - to watch your loved ones age and die over and over again - and I can't say that I didn't feel anything for her. It was a downer ending as she was helpless to watch it happen once again. But killing yourself isn't the proper way out and she now has the resolve to take responsibility as a person of influence. It will be interesting to see where her arc goes from here.
And the mysteries keep coming. Who is Towa and Banba's master? Finding him will no doubt be a recurring plot in this series. What about the man in the hood from the opening? He showed up briefly early on. And Gaisorg? The PM seemed to know who is under the armour. The mystery this season is really intriguing and I am getting really heavy early Heisei Kamen Rider vibes. The comedy was good too. Tyramigo and DimeVolcano finally make up and I am shipping Asuna and Melt now. |
