They may not transform, but Golion is still technically Toku, just in anime form. Thus, I am posting this here. Enjoy.

Dr Kain, that's cool you feel so strongly about Voltron, but what's wrong with a franchise being popular? I mean, your mileage on the Transformers films may vary, but regardless, they've lead the way for that franchise to grow both in terms of fan base & product.
Just think about the possibilities for the Voltron franchise to go with all the added popularity & cultural relevance. So even if this hypothetical Voltron film didn't suit your expectations, wouldn't it be worth it? |

Meh. I found the Voltron series to be boring and the toys lame.
They can do whatever they want, but meh. |

There are only four filmmakers that could do a Voltron movie right, Tarantino, Nolan, Wheedon, or Scott. I would not trust anyone else. This coming from the guy with a My Little Pony avatar. |

I'd watch Joss Whedon's Voltron
My problem with the toys was, coming from PR (I was a 90's kid), 5 of the same animal combining was kinda boring to me, and I didn't religiously watch the series like some of my older friends, sorry. Oh god. The inner child in me would probably kick my ass if he found out I picked My Little Pony over Voltron (Also, none of the images you linked to work for me) |

I got given the first lion tin volume of the original Voltron as a freebie at an all-night anime screening I went to a few years back. While I really liked the design of the robot, the show itself was painful to watch. But I chalked it down to it being just a bit dated and was interested in giving the next volume a try, but the DVDs must have bombed over here because only the first volume was ever released and even that was given away free or for under £5 most places.
I'd still like to check it out, but I think I'll probably just try GoLion if I can ever find it subbed. As for a live-action movie, whatever happens it couldn't be much worse than Voltron Force.

With the popularity of Transformers, and being their mostly all Vehicles, why wouldn't Vehicle Voltron get a look for a movie? And that brings another point I wanted to make. But I'll save that for another thread.
I think an LA Voltron would work. I mean, they could be Earth Explorers or something. Don't be such a downer, that's my job. |

The set is out of print, as Media Blasters lost the license to Golion and Dairugger. In fact, Dairugger volume 3 was only available for 3 weeks before it was discontinued, so if you happen to find the collection on sale anywhere, DO NOT HESITATE!!!

Sorry, but unless there is a live action GoLion/Voltron show/film (not just TBD).. this is still just considered an anime. Dropping it off in the General Discussion.
