Looking at the Bandai America website and boy does it feel hollow. The only thing that feels like flagship material is Dragon Ball. Ninja Steel is still there but ehh... and since when did Tamagotchi make a comeback? Is there some tamagotchi resurgence that I am not aware of?

Now see, this worries me. I get that people want non-mmpr characters, but anybody remember mattel's Thundercats classics line? They tried this strategy, the line was cancelled after one wave and collectors were stuck with an incomplete team and a couple villains nobody wanted. Hopefully that's not the case since Hasbro owns the license now..

Thundercats was also an issue because it was solidly only the 80s, and was coming off of the back of a show people were either pissed was cancelled or had already written off the property because of the new show. It also had no 'presence' or marketing. Lightning won't have those issues. |

Looks like they are off to a good start. I'm mostly a robot guy for my toys, but if we get a good Lord Zedd... Can't wait to see if we get transformable Zords with articulation next!

I will say I like that they don't have that weird muscular build Bandai fell in love back with PRiS. Also I don't know understand why they brought it back, none of Jungle Fury or RPM era "Legacy" figures had them. Maybe it was a request from Saban.
I am probably in the minority here, but these pictures have me disappointed. The sculpt looks great, it's the joints that concern me. It looks like it is a similar buck to that of Marvel Legends, and it's those joints (especially the elbows & knees) that ruin the toys for me. Like I said thought I know most people like the current Legends and Black Series lines. So I am happy people are getting something they wanted. That said if they make a Ranger Slayer I would probably pick one up. |

Which tbh, between that, and some other random releases like the Mystic Force dragons, and Ninja Storm figures, and Operation Overdrive monster figures, as well as the dinocharge monsters were some of their best work. There were a few Ninja Steel monsters I wish they had made too. Like that variant of the Cat one that was from Overdrive. Last edited by Librarian; 08-20-2018 at 01:54 AM.. |

I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that we likely won't see Zeo, Dino Thunder or Psycho in the first wave or two -- those were this year's figures, so it's likely Hasbro would want different series in their opening for a bit more diversity. In Space, SPD and Samurai anyone?
