http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DorkAge
Dork Age is the downturn of quality and popularity of a franchise for a period of time and I feel 2012-2017 to be dork age for Sentai for reasons. * Go-Busters- I feel 3 core Go-Busters especially Hiromu is the reason of why Go-Busters wasn’t popular. They lack character development and come off as not very interesting. I’m not sure if I see anyone putting those 3 Go-busters on their favorite Sentai character. The show was boring in my personal opinion. * Kyoryuger- I didn’t get a team vibe from the show and it was essentially one-Man show for Daigo Kiryu. This is example of why the head-Writer shouldn’t focus way DAMN too much on Red Ranger especially if he’s Screaming Red Ranger. Watching Kyoryuger was painful to sit through and i made sure that I won’t make same mistake ever again by not watching any future Sentai that have annoying Screaming Red Ranger who love to be Main Star and doesn’t think of his comrades. * ToQger- I will admit that I did like this show but I was aware that not every Western audience are huge on trains and they dislike the show heavily despite their love for Kamen Rider Den-O which was train-themed Rider. Their suit and mecha are not greatest design but little bit better than Kyoryuger. * Ninninger- After watching first 5 episodes, I stopped watching Ninninger cause TAKAHARU PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH WITH HIS ANNOYING CATCHPHRASE, HIS TERRIBLE ACTING AND HE’S LIKE WORST SCREAMING RED RANGER MORE THAN DAIGO! I WANT SCREAMING RED RANGER CLICHES TO DIE ALREADY! Sorry...... I got carried away. Anyway, Ninninger could have been franchise killer to Super Sentai cause their toy sale was awful. That’s exactly what Toei get for focus way too much on Takaharu. Ninninger might be the most disappointing anniversary show that Toei ever did. You’re not going to see Ninninger on anyone’s list for their favorite Sentai. * Zyuohger- Definitely better than last one but their villain suck and there was some issues with end arc. I think it was good show but it’s not on same level as Gokaiger, Shinkenger or even Dekaranger in term of being huge fan-favorite season. * Kyuranger- I’m very glad that I didn’t watch this show cause one more screaming red ranger and my brain will blow out. Lucky is the reason of why the show is not fan-favorite Sentai show and some Kyuranger didn’t get to do much since there was so many Sentai Ranger and it’s hard to give all 11 or 12 Ranger their spotlight moment. I feel Lupinranger VS. Patranger have potential to be fan-favorite Sentai like Gokaiger, Shinkenger, Dekaranger, Timeranger and Jetman since it got interesting story around Lupinranger and Kogure who I have interest on and the villains are much improved than Zyuogher’s Villains. Not sure if I can called Lupinranger VS. Patranger put the official end to the dork age of Super Sentai but who know? Do you agree or disagree with 2012-2017 being dork age of Super Sentai? Disney went through Dark Age during 80s and 2012-2017 is essentially “The Dark Age of Super Sentai”. |

Ok serioiusly why is everything you post so negative? Every thread you've started has been essentially you saying "heres why I dislike this, do you agree?".
Can I make a suggestion? Go find another fandom. Its VERY clear you haven't liked any sentai series in aong time, so maybe its time for you to move on to something else. Or maybe you could just focus on the things you have liked about sentai? No need to continuoulsy focus on the negative. Also just to prove you wrong, I very much enjoyed GoBusters, Kyuranger and Kyoryuger and would defenitly rank them as two of my favourite sentai series of all time. I have to disagree on Kyuranger as it's not Lucky that keeps it from being a fan favorite, its the whole show in general. From the lousy villains and their awful designs ( I do not care if they are following a theme the almost all the villain designs were awful except for a few). Boring big bad and the story just feels like it drags on so long that you start not to give a shit about any of the rangers including the good ones no matter what development they got.
Now if you meant all suits from Toqger including the villain suits not being the greatest than I disagree about that too. Toqger has some of the best villain designs I seen for sentai in years. |

I think this is trying a bit too hard to find a reason for all these shows being pretty bad; though I will admit there are some problems of over-reliance on tropes and such that has pervaded through each series; not to mention the ever-rising amount of toys to promote that's become an issue in Kamen Rider as well.
Go-Busters I'll agree that the core cast weren't terribly interesting characters on their own; looking back I think that is the biggest problem and it does harm some of the series' themes. But overall there's a lot to like about the season and there are some very good unique things about it; especially in how the mech fights are handled. Mech fights imo are always the worst part of Sentai since they more or less always ended up being shoehorned in; just a pointless extra fight on top of the previous one that ends up being not as impressive because the bulky suits are simply not as capable of some of the more impressive stunts the rangers themselves can pull off. But Go-Busters actually had a great way of getting around these problems by being a lot more creative in when they happened; in giving them a sense of tension and build-up with that countdown; in actually making the previous fight with the rangers a lot more suspenseful; not just going with the most recent most powerful mech all the time and actually saving the 'ultimate gattai' for particular occassions -- I don't wanna go on about this longer because it'd be better served in an actual Go-Busters thread, but it's a good example for me of how Go-Busters was really good. And that's not even getting into Enter, Beet J. Stag, the connection stressed with the Buddyroids, the fantastic ranger suits and everything else. It was a good series. Kyoryuger is worse on reflection than when I just came out of it, but I could actually stand Daigo a lot more as a 'screaming red' because it fit in much more with the series going for a very wild and out-there approach than somber and serious like Go-Busters. I don't think it succeeded in these goals as well as it could have, but for what it was I still found myself having fun and there's still some things to like here. Torin in particular is a VERY good character and easily my favourite mentor so far. Toqger is just damn good fun. There's problems but a lot of what this series does just makes it work -- its music constantly hits just the right tone and upbeat cheerfulness; its overall plot is fairly interesting; the respective aesthetics of the heroes and villains are extremely well executed... I really couldn't help falling in love. Its sixth ranger is also a joy to behold and I love how persistent the rangers are in getting him to join the team; a persistence and optimism which makes so much sense when it's revealed that they're [SPOILERS] and it works so well with the series' themes of imagination. I admit I've also just really loved trains my whole life so that certainly helped, but it was honestly good in its own right. Yeah no I'm not defending Ninninger. I'll say I liked Starninger; I'll say I liked Kyuemon; and I'll even say that I think the legacy stuff is integrated far better than most series and works its way into its themes to the extent it's more than just a "hey these guys are here now isn't this cool" thing. But it's still sooooooo bad, oh my god. I don't even want to get into how bad it is, I'm just-- I'll let y'all have this one. Worst Sentai so far for me. Zyuohger was nice. Had a brilliant Red, some nice rangers and supporting characters, and honestly some fairly interesting villains. Kuval (or Qubald or however your subs translate his name) had an incredible design by Sentai standards and seeing his story unfold was really cool, especially when we got to Bangray. Zyuoh The World was a great way to celebrate the franchise's sixth rangers by going back to their roots with the whole possessed-by-evil thing, and then the arc he DOES go on is great just to see how they handle themes of depression and survivor's guilt... even if it is a little too rough and ham-fisted. That's not how depression works, Leo, stop being an asshole Still, good series. I think it and Kamen Rider OOO are great examples of how you can do an anniversary season by not just throwing in cameos and references every chance you get, but just by using your experience and your accrued themes to make a damn good season. That's the sort of anniversary celebration I like seeing every once in a while. Kyuranger was ech. This post has already gone on so long I'm not gonna say much but there is a LOT I could say about Kyuranger, believe me. Overall not a series I ended up enjoying a lot, thanks Lucky.

Go-Busters is objectively* the best Sentai season, Kyoryuger is objectively* the worst, ToQger is worse than most people say it is, Ninninger appeals specifically to me so I look back on it fondly but get why people don't like it, Zyuohger has some of the best villains in Sentai period alongside some of the best Rangers, and Kyuranger started off very poorly but by the end I thought it was pretty good.
Sentai, like a lot of things, is based around opinion. I'd call some of the earlier series (Mostly the 80's period, again there was good stuff there but, oof, Fiveman.) worse than anything besides Kyoryuger. Though Fiveman does get very close to being that bad. Basically I don't think that Sentai has HAD a dark age. Kamen Rider on the other hand... *"Objectively" in this case is used for humor, I just really like Go-Busters and super dislike Kyoryuger. |

Go-Busters=BEST in the post-Gokaiger Era, as well as one of the best Series overall. Dunno why you're lumping it into this list....
Kyoryuger=Never watched it, and probably don't plan to, but I've heard how lackluster it is & have seen & read enough to understand that it's not anywhere near one of the best. Toqger=I will defend this show in that it's not AT ALL as bad as people claim it is. The show had a pretty unique premise, and I will say that minus Go-Busters, it has the best villains post-Gokaiger. But yea, it's not great. It's not bad, just a tad below mediocre. Ninninger=GET THIS TRASH OUTTA HERE. This show has SO MANY PROBLEMS, and it's not just Takaharu. I ragequit this show after seeing the stupid lawnmower Episode.... Zyuohger=Mmm....Another mediocre Sentai. A TAD BIT above Toqger, but still not that great, due to the show not really pushing above & beyond. Kyuranger=ONE HECK OF A MIXED BAG....Yea, this show can have some good moments, but THE BAD MOMENTS, MY GOSH....This one is a really hard one to classify honestly, but yea, not up-to-par with what it should've been.

Go-busters overall is awesome but the later arc where they had to go Easter egg hunting was a bore, thankfully the ending wrapped up nicely
I loved Kyoryuger for its overall flashiness in contrast to Go-busters and diverse cast in terms of age range which I thought was an interesting choice, heck they even got Ryutaros, Ryu Commander, and a bunch of previous ranger actors to dance to their ending theme riders too ToQger had a nice ending and Kobayashi did it again was what I said after it was over Ninninger I still think the art direction was awesome but the story was not captivating and overall the show felt mediocre which disappointed me Zyuohger felt decent overall as a show, Yamato as a red ranger was awesome overall, merch was meh in the end Kyuranger has its imperfections narrative-wise at the start but overall managed to pull through in the end and gave fans a red ranger who grew and changed as the show progressed
