Is anyone else doubling up on some of their Ultras?
My Heisei Era Ultras aren't in this picture but yes, I do have a few of them as well.

I finally have a Zoffy. I now have all my favorite Showa Ultras but it would also be cool to finish off that era.

So, finally got around to opening these guys!
Ultraman Manga is nice. Some of the first few in-hand pics with the flat-looking colors concerned me, but in-hand the silver is still pleasing like your average Ultra. The barely-white eyes though? Not so much. Even in good lighting, you can barely tell they're painted. They really needed the brighter white used in earlier promo pics. It's not a backbreaker though. I am curious how people that complained about SHF Wizard's feet will look at Manga's actual clown-looking feet (longer and much more slender than the average SHF or Ultra-Act). It's not a bad thing either, and he can balance pretty well. The forearm gauntlets are also easy to swap out. My only nitpicks are the molded detail in the hips prevents the legs from raising as high as the usual Ultra-Act, and the stumpier fists not being easy to remove because there's less plastic to grip while removing them. Zoffy Mebius Special is almost a straight re-release of the original Zoffy figure with some new (bigger) accessories. The only real difference I can tell between the original and Mebius Special are the original has yellower eyes while Mebius Special are a plainer clear plastic. Accessory-wise, the effect parts appear the same (Mebius Special's might be slightly different shades of blue, but that could also be my eyes). This release swaps out the Converter and Beta Capsule accessories for the Ikazuchi and Final Meteor. Thankfully, a (plain) Tamashii stand is thrown in. I wish two display poles were included so you could display both simultaneously, but at least the stand is included (looking at YOU, Gaia V1!). Final Meteor is nice but I think I'll forever leave it in the box; it's not something I'd want to see take a dive off a shelf, and there aren't many great places to get a good grip on it to plug the display pole in or remove it without feeling like you'll snap something off with too much force. The Tiga two-pack is something I've left unopened for almost two months, and I kind of feel bad about it since it's also a decent release. I must not have paid much attention to preview pics or the actual box pics when I took a look at it in July, but I was surprised to see Tiga Sky Type is purple rather than blue (haven't watched Tiga, misremembered promo pics being blue). Hands are kind of a pain to pop on and off (Power's made an actual popping sound when I got the fists off), but wrist joints aren't showing signs of breaking. The effects look good but feel a little repetitive for each figure (though Power's NBA Jam flaming basketball-looking thing is great). The two-pack also comes with the Gutswing and a Tiga Tamashii stand. Again, YAY for the included Tamashii stand. (Sorry, but it's a major pet peeve when flying things that really need a stand don't have one included. It can be plain like the one thrown in with Zoffy MS, just include the damn thing Bandai.) Overall, this probably inches ahead of the Dark two-pack as a slightly better release, but still lags behind the Zero two-pack for me, which remains my favorite Ultra release of the past couple years. Admittedly, Tiga isn't my favorite Ultra design and I love Zero's, but despite that I still like this set. |

Photo review of Ultraman Mebius Mebius Burning Brave at Shishioh: The silver looks a smidgen darker compared to normal Mebius? The Burning Mebium Dynamite effect pieces are thankfully not heavy and peg together & unpeg easily. And thankfully, as Shishioh's pics also show off (much better LOL), a Tamashii stage is also included. I'm very happy we've had a string of Ultra-Act releases with those stands included. Overall, it's not wholesale different from Mebius as other forms are (I do hope to see Phoenix and Infinity forms someday), it's nice and the effect parts make it a bit more exciting than normal Mebius. Also, since I finally just dusted my shelves & rearranged some things, here's pics of my Ultra collection. |

I was lucky to get a second-hand original release Belial off ebay for a reasonable price. I'm so glad he still hold up well against the new ultra act bodies.
