So watching through the subs, there's the key in what Oma Zi-O tells Sougo. That he looks forward to 'what' time and space he destroys. He might be willing to sacrifice himself, and my guess is the same theory I had a while ago. He's intent on removing himself from all timelines so that Oma doesn't happen at all, Swartz doesn't obtain the power to collapse all the Rider Worlds, and all will be righted. Or that he only does that one timeline where he becomes the dark Oma Zi-O. But I would agree, Uncle is holding the final power up for Oma Zi-O form which is the Final Rider Forms watch. Also, I love that Decade's finally fulfilling his own prophecy. He said he'd destroy the world. Finally give Magenta a chance to.

Because I am a bit bored and really want to do this . . .
Fighting evil by moonlight Helping the Overlord by daylight Never running from a real fight! She is the one named Tsukuyomi! She only once turned her back on a friend She is always there to defend She is the one on whom we sometimes depend With secret powers All so new to her She is the one named Tsukuyomi Fighting evil by moonlight Helping her friends by daylight She is the one named Tsukuyomi She is the one named Tsukuyomi She is the one . . . Tsukuyomi! This is the best I could do that sounded right song wise and with her character wise. Last edited by Spearichu; 08-21-2019 at 07:23 PM.. |

Hey everyone, guess what time it is!
Well, with a single episode left, I figure it's time to take a moment to specifically appreciate the insanely good job Toei has done not leaking out information, deliberately or otherwise, about all the cool twists in this show. Obviously anything that got a mass-release toy was going to be in a catalog, but beyond that, from what I understand, they managed to keep most of the returning actors a secret right up until the preview for the episode they were in aired, and in general, those episode previews always avoided showing too much, which doesn't always happen with Kamen Rider. Or maybe it just goes to show how packed every episode of Zi-O is that even with the all the stuff that does get spoiled, there's always more to see. I've been slightly uneasy with how Zi-O's endgame has been playing out for a few different reasons, but this episode was amazing, and while I'm still not totally convinced one more episode is enough time to do it in, it's definitely starting to look like everything is going to tie together very nicely. The only thing I didn't like about this episode was Chase dying again, and paradoxically I also liked that he died again. It's somewhat strange that he's here to begin with, and the way he's tied into the actual plot and themes is bordering on tenuous, but it's paying tribute to what is possibly the absolute most memorable character death in the history of Heisei Rider, and while I'm not sure how deliberate this was, it's cool that Geiz telling him he has friends is a total reversal from how in Drive he genuinely didn't understand how much Gou cared about him in the end. Again, I'm not totally sure what they were going for, but it seems similar to the resolution to the Blade episodes in that it's a sort of apology for how depressing that part of Drive was. Part of what's strange about this all is I don't know whether or not the finale will have any surprise guest stars, or if Chase is it. I highly doubt Joe Odagiri is gonna pop out from around a corner and give Sougo a thumbs up or anything, but it's not unthinkable to me we'll see someone. That's only one facet of what happens in this episode, though, and the rest is solid gold. Our little overlord has come a long way from his humble beginnings as a bizarre and possibly delusional high school student, and his characterization throughout shines. Especially in his scene with his uncle, which just like every other time, really injects a lot of heart back into all the craziness, and keeps the show feeling grounded and human, despite how nonsensical so much of it is. I also loved the use of Trinity here. I'm not gonna lie, I've actually been in love with that form since its debut. I firmly believe it to way cooler than Grand Zi-O, especially factoring in the mileage each of them has gotten out of their respective gimmicks in-series, and this just pushes it over the edge. The explanation for why it can more or less stand up to Oma Zi-O (for all you power level peeps, I'm pretty sure he still would've won if that fight had went on any longer) capitalizes on the symbolism I always felt the form had, and even though "the power of friendship" is just about the most trite thing imaginable, I can't pretend it was anything but satisfying here. And on the subject of friends, Zi-O has really reminded me that absolutely nobody can compete with Tsukasa and Kaitou when it comes to being... whatever they are to each other. It's kind of its own thing, hence the lack of competition. The point is Diend showing up to help Decade like that is very true to how those characters are meant to be written, and Kaitou's time powers were another in the long line of satisfying payoffs going on in this episode. One thing that can't bother me personally but is probably a bit of a missed opportunity though. It would've been a decent band-aid solution for Rider's continuity woes to suggest that the post-Decade shows that (mostly seemed to when squinting) take place in one world were the result of Swartz's plan partially taking effect or something? Like maybe some previous effort he made resulted in a bunch but not all Riders' worlds getting jammed together and being stuck that way until Sougo became Zi-O. There's still a lot that doesn't account for, but for some reason that idea came into my head right as Tsukasa started explaining the worlds merging again. I have to be clear that I really don't think Zi-O has any obligation to smooth these things out, and there almost certainly wasn't enough time for that just in this episode, but if this there's one thing that's apparent to me when I read these threads, it's that plenty of people would be very, very happy to see some of this stuff cleared up. Anyway, I'm really, really looking forward to next week.

To be honest, I have issues with the sudden "all the rider worlds are merging" plot as it seems that they changed their mind halfway through the season as to how all the worlds were interlocking with each other from starting as if they were all in the same timeline to suddenly realising that that was literally impossible and changing their tune for the second round of tributes as a result.
The show is definitely getting more interesting towards the end which is a good thing, however I am still looking forward more to Zero-One starting.

The show is definitely getting more interesting towards the end which is a good thing, however I am still looking forward more to Zero-One starting. It would explain why major historical events within the different Rider worlds seem to have absolutely no effect on future series. Like how Japan seems to have totally recovered from the literal world-ending, global catastrophe of Helheim in only a matter of a few months by the time Drive +comes around, even though Gaim and Drive clearly seem to occupy the same world. I would bet, however, that certain series like Fourze and Zi-O itself take place entirely in the post-convergence world due to the references of past Riders from even the early Heisei Era and Showa. I think perhaps there was a shift from "All Riders take place within the same world" to "Actually, it only appears that way due to the world's colliding" in the middle of the season, but I think it actually works in the show's favor since it'd be a slow, subtle process that our heroes are only just now finding out about.

Ah see that's exactly what I was thinking honestly. Time is relative as a reminder. So with that said time for me to copy my theory I wrote down and put it here.
The setting is 2058 in a separate world, Swartz and Alpina are members of a royal family. Swartz discovers there are multiple worlds and his world is going to be destroyed as a result. So to prevent that he wants to merge all other rider worlds together by using a singular rider to draw all riders inwards before destroying that combined world to save his own. Reminder that to Swartz, the worlds are still separate entities. He travels to 2009 and gives Sougo his powers after deeming him worthy enough, and as a result Sougo starts drawing in the Rider Worlds that already exist. This is basically the Showa Rider World (Since they all connect together) along with the separate Heisei Rider Worlds and any offshoots. This starts off the plot of Decade as a result. Decade happens and as a result of his existence and everything that happened, all the Rider Worlds are stabilized but merged into a singular form due to post Decade implying heavily all the Riders exist in one World. We can assume, and I think it's agreed upon, that Decade was the one who created the singular rider continuity world. You had stuff like Agito and Ryuki (But that was a dream) alongside Den-O and Kiva, but nothing really... too insane yet until W onward. But anyway, Decade ends as W begins and Riders are born into this new world relatively easily. But as Tsukasa says, the merging didn't exactly complete until the Ridewatches were gathered and Grand Zi-O came into existence. So the singular rider world isn't exactly stable which explains all the slight gaps in continuity and events that don't make too much sense. But all in all it's relatively harmless. Build was the peak of everything though because his world/timeline being promoted as a separate world/timeline takes on new meaning. The Rider World likely couldn't handle anymore shared Riders and thus a new world had to be created. Except Build's world was merged back into the main rider universe due to Build's Finale. While not explicitly stated that the New World is the Main Rider universe, it adds up since they wanted Build to be in the same timeline/space as every other rider. But this was the final straw that acted as the gateway for Zi-O. Swartz just needed to recruit Time Jacker's to start making Another Riders so that Sougo could seek out Riders and start hunting Ridewatches. Of course due to all the time travel shenanigans and everything, this process ends up being expedited due to Geiz, Tsukuyomi and Woz. Once the Ridewatches were all gathered for Grand Zi-O that's when everything fully fused together. However the way every Rider World was fused together was so haphazard that they are all contradicting each other and can't exist at the same time. Thus time and space are collapsing on themselves a result which is what all the chaos was recently. Wew... that was a long mouthful. Thanks for coming to my TED talk, but that's how I interpreted the two reveals from 47 and 48. |

It would seem that Evolto's power is what allowed the worlds to merge without destroying them....at least for now.
