Skull does come with all the pieces to make a black double head with clear eyes and a black crest and center stripe. Literally the only part you' have to make yourself is the right pectoral detail. If you had two sets of arm/leg cuffs you wouldn't need to mod those.

I thought one of Figurerise kits, I'd assumed Skull, came with a head that you could use to customize into a Joker. It's been a couple years so it's hard to recall, but I know I saw a weird all-black Double head with cloudy gray eyes, a work-in-progress, from either 2chan or one of the usual Japanese reviewers. Could've easily been an unfinished custom, but I remember people talking about that head too...
Wish I had the image of it. |

If they look appealing, I would recommend at least one. I mean, they all share the same basic body except for Accel of course, and for less than the price of a Figuart you're getting an almost twice-the-size figure that's fully posable.

Easiest way to rectify the lack of that detail would be scanning the decals, duplicating and flipping the image, then somehow printing them out in comparable or better quality.

Here's a handy link to get them off Mandarake, it's a bit cheaper, and the ones I got there were brand new unused, so it saved me a bit.
I really wish they would do more OOO forms, and Accel Trial/Booster, and I hadn't even thought of CJ Extreme, that's an awesome idea. I'd buy them all. |

The only real reason Skull came with those parts is because it was molded on the same runners that Cyclone Joker was. I guess they could say it's so you can customize him into Joker. But in reality it's just a bi-product of a reused mold.

I don't know if I mentioned it in this thread, but a while back my Skull's inner shoulder joint broke. At first I was bummed, tried to fix it but just made the arm loose. So I decided to put sculpting putty all around the inner shoulder joint so it just doesn't move. No big loss, it's a totally useless joint and completely hidden. I think it's supposed to do what figuarts do with that ball joint in the torso that lets figures shrug, but it's got, like, no actual room to move. (and rather than be a ball joint, it's a weird swivel on an angle, accomplishing even less poses) But anyway, since it was the super tight shoulder ball joints that caused it to break (FUCK. POLYCAPS.) I figured I'd pop out the right shoulder to loosen the joint, and accidentally snapped the other inner shoulder peg off. That's on me, but it snapped off REALLY easily, and to make a long and embarassing story short; I don't know if I want to collect the other models now since I'm worried they'll all break on that useless joint. Literally no other joint on this toy feels or looks as un-solid and pointless as this joint. I've been saving for these models, but then I saw this on BBTS, even though it'd eat up every penny I have saved, and now I'm not so rock sure. Last edited by Baltan II; 02-01-2013 at 11:29 PM.. |
