I wish I could say cool, but unless someone is planning to bring them to the US (translated), they are meaningless to me.
And Kiva without Kiva would be pointless. |

I don't understand the hate for Wataru. Is it because he actually grew up throughout the show? He went from being this wimpy scared of everyone shut in to accepting friends and becoming a hero the way a character should over the course of 50 episodes.

Wait, the Blade novel's plot doesn't make sense...

It may have harmed my viewing experience to have seen a much better attempt at this kind of protagonist (Den-O) before, and the fact his father is way more awesome and compelling of a character probably didn't help. My issue with Kiva is I don't HATE the protagonist... I just like other characters in the show way more.

Some more info on the two novels (plus the Agito one as well) from billySEEDdecade on HJU:

So this is some info that I got from reading some reviews. I used Rikai-chan to translate so I mat get the wrong idea. This is the reviewer's opinion so it can be different to others.
Agito - Novel have more focus to Mana. - There is no Yami no Chikara and Hikari no Chikara. - Akatsuki is a village instead of a ship. - Cut the relation with Kuuga by making G3 created to fight Lords instead of Gronggi. - Shoichi and Hikawa are involved in the Akatsuki accident and Shoichi lost his memory after fighting a mysterious creature (El of Water?). - There's no Taichi, the son of the professor whom Shoichi is freeloading. - The novel have some comedy and serious moments. - The ending is an "And the adventure continue" type of ending. Although the battle with the Lords still continue, the novel end in a bright note. Blade - The only returning characters are Kenzaki and Hajime. - Kenzaki have a weaker personality compared to the TV Series due to living for a long time and seeing a lot of horrible things. - Leangle's treatment is the same (a joke in the Japanese fandom is that Leangle always left behind). - You need a lot of imagination to picture the future world. - The new characters get little focus. This is also the case with the setting since once in a while the setting keeps on changing. - The novel have a "Paradise Lost" feel. - The novel will be a happy ending to both Kenzaki and Hajime. Kiva - Wataru transform without belt. - Novel version Wataru and Otoya are more likeable and cooler. Especially Otoya. - The past part have a trendy love drama feel while the present part is more like shoujo manga love story. - People who liked Nago will be disappointed (maybe he'll get the Kusaka treatment in this novel?). - In the second half of the novel, the IXA System are mass-produced. - The people are also aware of the existence of Fangire. - It also have some comedy moment, the gag scene also have a gag from the Agito novel. Well, that's the stuff that I remembered.

I liked Otoya as he was but I'm up for a cooler Wataru. Have these novels been translated?

I like that there will be a happy ending for Kenzaki and Hajime, but I'm weary of the rest.
(lol Leangle) Oh well. Not like it'll ever be translated anyway.
