In any case the characters fictionally don't use these abilities so it doesn't really matter to me anyway. I don't generally like to photograph features that aren't actually canonical. Neither of them used Tire Exchanges as abilities. With Proto-Drive his abilities literally don't allow him to use them at all. Whereas Banno has the ability to steal Shift Cars and use their finishers, but doesn't need to do exchanges because his power is equivalent to that of a Super Evolved Roidmude. I've seen plenty of reviews where people have removed the Archetype Gear tires from Proto & Gold before, the ones I have simply don't allow for it. They just can't seem to be removed

I'm going to appropriate a term coined by Stephen Colbert and say "Justish".

Awesome gallery. The pictures are very well done, especially the action shots. And the figure itself looks really good as well. Love the red eye pieces, they reflect the light so good it almost looks like there are LED's in there.

It's really odd how some copies can do it easily and others seemingly not at all. I don't see why it's not removable across the board. I mean, it's not really canonical, but it's still a fun little bonus feature (especially since Gold Drive never got a TK release, IIRC?) and it wouldn't require any extra tooling either. I'm guessing maybe because the tire is thinner than Type Speed's and Bandai doesn't want people breaking it?

Interestingly enough the copy I handled had a loose enough connection that the tire could come off, but at the same time the front half of my Max Flare wouldn't stay attached to the figure.

Just got this guy for about $20 on HLJ's winter sale. Incredible looking figure, and really fun to mess around with too. For such a low price, I don't really mind the lack of accessories
