Hey everyone! I thought you might enjoy seeing this massive collection of mostly Red Super Sentai suits, as well as plenty of Kamen rider suits and even some bikes. This is in one section of Toei Kyoto Studio Park (東映太秦映画村), also known as Eigamura. If you've ever watched an episode of a sentai show where they get transported back to old Edo Japan, that's where they film it. You can actually walk around those sets, and they're extremely detailed, right down to each house having interiors.
Anyways, I took a walk through their collection of mostly screen used suits. The great thing is they're all just sitting out there, barley roped off. So getting to see some of these outfits up close was a real treat. I'm a fan of the shows, but couldn't begin to name all the suits as there's so many, so it would be appreciated if you could help out with that! If you have any questions about the place just let me know, I really recommend visiting it if you're a fan of any of the Toei shows! |

That is wonderful! It looks like they have pretty much all of the suits from their toku productions.
Let's see for the Sentai, the first set that you saw were all Super Sentai that didn't get adapted for Power Rangers, minus Zyuranger, the one that did get adapted into MMPR. The one with the gem you pointed at is from Goggle V while the bird one is from Sun Vulcan. This handy page on the wiki should help you out with identifying them: http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Sentai_Red |

Nice. Very nice.
I really do hope to visit eigamura one day. Would be awesome if it happened to be a day where they are filming another "I went back to feudal era Japan" episode for either rider or sentai. Were they filming anything there when you arrived?

It was a bit overcast that day and even began to rain right before we left, so there was no filming, but there was a big cosplay event where lots of people came in full costume from all sorts of different anime to use the sets for their photoshoots, which was pretty fun to see. I'll be uploading video of that on my Youtube channel once I edit it. The funny thing was in the hotel I stayed at the night before, they had a bunch of Super Sentai and Kamen Rider shows on TV and one of them involved Kamen Rider going back in time and using that set. |

Sometimes I wonder which franchise is going to be first to have a Blazing Saddles moment, Sentai or Rider?
By Blazing Saddles moment, I am talking about that very meta scene in the movie.

Planning to go to eigamura in summer. I did want to go in spring, but the friend I planned to go with didn't have time and I moved into a new dorm and... yeah.

It's more that Kyoto will be packed in summer. There would have been less people in Spring. |

Ah I didn't realize you were already in Japan. Then no problem! Yeah it will be busy for sure. I recommend going on a weekday if possible rather than weekend, it will be at least a bit better.
