I enjoyed the sunset fight as well. It looked great.
Anyway, 9 and 10. The character Kujaku was interesting, but also nothing new. A moment of sympathy towards a villain bites her in the ass and she comes back vowing revenge with little regard for anything else. I did like how she was defeated through constant compliments so the mirror could absorb her, though. Shishiranger connects with her on some level through the peacock feather, but then she chooses to just...Leave. I'm rather interested to see how her return is handled (Or if she just returns by the next episode. I'm only posting this now because ep 11 doesn't feature a "Last time" segment, so if she does return in this episode...I'll probably edit and update). Just finished 11 and 12 and Kujaku was nowhere in sight, so I'm pretty interested in where her story arc will go. As for the episodes themselves, they were okay. The tofu one was fairly interesting. It's always nice to see rangers defeat a monster by coming up with a tricky plan, rather than just brute forcing their way through. The magnet one wasn't too interesting, though. Just a monster being a dick. As a whole, the episodes weren't anything special beyond seeing a little time in the spotlight for Tenmaranger and Kirinranger.

The plot of the magnet episode is not the greatest, but I love the actor that plays him so I enjoy that episode a lot. Sometimes just having an actor that is playing his role as the monster of the week and having fun with it is all you need to have an energetic episode.
Kujaku and Daigo have one of the best subs arcs in the entire series. Plus, that is the arc that contains the most episodes. |

Started watching Abaranger. As a result, I am now completely obsessed with Abaranger.

Episodes 13 and 14.
Rin's grandfather arrives in town with a vendetta against the Kabuki monster (BTW, I know the monsters have names, but they're so incredibly Asian that I'll never remember them unless they're super memorable). He's peppy and energetic, which makes watching him pretty nice. 13's cliffhanger ending was pretty neat. I legit thought Guhon killed the robber for a moment. As for the arc itself, it didn't do much for Rin, but we did get to see her grow and interact with her grandfather, which was nice. Rather, 14 ended rather large with not-Saba (Byakko Shinken?) being shoved into the stone King Arthur style. While I do know who the 6th Dairanger is, I am curious over how he'll be introduced and how this arc moves forward. Also the DaiRinKen. Yup. Those appeared too. We also see glimpses of a statue-esque form for the Douma generals. I'm interested if they have more monstrous forms now.

Just finished rewatching Go-Busters. It still holds up and is a fantastic season IMO

So...Soccer Sentai Tokyo KiRyoku Bomber
This episode was certainly out there. I try to only post about Dai once every two episodes to keep my posts low and prevent double posting/constant editing. But this episode...That was certainly something. This was by far one of the dumbest episodes I've ever seen. And I loved every moment of it Silly can still be funny if pulled off right. It's not like they were putting off saving the planet because one kid didn't get a birthday cake or something. So betting the life of Ryou's sister on a 1v20 Soccer game? Interesting. I like that they played it semi-seriously, but then had it devolve into silly fun once the other Dairangers arrived. As an aside, I'm kind of glad that they didn't throw Kou into the episode. I like that they're putting a little time between establishing the Byakko Shinken and the viewer's knowledge that there's a 6th Dairanger and actually inserting the character. With current Sentai throwing in their 6th by the 13th episode, it's nice to be able to watch the team operate without having a break in the status quo so early.

Oh right, Ryou had a sister...
Seems like that should have been a bigger deal. One of the cool things about Dairanger is that the main 5 still operate as a team unit even after Kibaranger makes his debut. |

Yeah. She makes a surprisingly few amount of appearances so far. She's basically only been a plot device when she's appeared.
And really? That's interesting to learn. That could be both good and bad. I'll wait to see how it plays out.
