Hello Kamen Rider fans,
I'm new here and would like to start watching Kamen Rider Black RX. However, I would like to avoid fillers and just watch the episodes that contribute to the main story. "TheDreadWolf" created a great abridged or filler free guide for Kamen Rider Black. Can Kamen Rider Black RX fans help? Thank you all in advance. |

Because these shows are so formulaic (especially the older ones) that half the episodes are essentially the same thing and it gets really repetitive.

Huh, that makes sense. I guess I'm just used to different kinds of shows. Thanks for the help. And sorry to the person who asked in the first place for derailing the conversation for so long.

Which is why I think the way Ultraman shows are done these days solves the too many fillers issue. The max episode count being reduced to 25-ish helps reducing fillers and makes a good portion of the episodes feel crucial to plot development.

Although sometimes I'm not in the mood for fillers in a way I do actually like the Asian side of things being year-round seeing as in Britain hardly any TV shows are on for most of the year and when Power Rangers was just 32 episodes it was depressing even though RPM was one of those, it just smacked of people involved in TV not caring about what they would see a kids show whereas if it's year round to my mind at the risk of sounding a bit like Alan Partridge you could almost compare it to a British soap or kids shows we used to have that were a bit grittier, like Byker Grove!
And also sometimes the constant narrative of Showa vs. Heisei can be annoying especially considering we're not in Heisei anymore, I mean considering I was born in 92 I do feel well placed to say that most of 2000-2008 was really not like 2009 onwards type stuff and Kamen Rider is not an exception so somehow considering 00s and 10s shows in the same category seems a bit too simplistic. |

Episodes 1-2 are necessary if you just want to start the show. Episodes 1-4 would probably be recommended if you want to see him get the car which actually references plot points from Black. If you remember the Cogworts from Mighty Morphin' Season 3, then go through Episode 6. The arcs for Robo-Rider and Bio-Rider are Episodes 14-17. Shadow Moon returns around Episode 22 and that arc is dealt with around Episode 27 (though calling it an "arc" is fairly generous). I've never seen Episode 35, but based on what I've heard and read, it's an interesting use of Bio-Rider powers and how one's inner body is altered while their outer self is in a transformed state. The death of the main villains starts around Episode 42 and the reappearance of the 10 Legend Riders of Showa will occur sometime after that, so I'd say do Episodes 42-47 to finish.
I will be following TokuKnight89's guide: 1-4, 14-17, 22-27, 42-47 Don't worry about seeming harsh all movies/shows are subjective. I am just revisiting my childhood days looking for the meaty substance and trimming unnecessary fat in these older shows. I usually watch anime, american, or british tv shows and they have a lot of filler that just boggs down the series a lot. Series like Boruto, The Walking Dead, Dragon Ball Super, etc. have too much filler and almost made me quit the show because once the canon things start any or all references to those arcs are gone. |
