I didn't see a good thread to post this in, so I opted to make one.
Found an interesting article on the love tokusatsu gets in Indonesia. It also made note of a fan-made creation. https://amp.scmp.com/lifestyle/trave...became-so-huge Know of other instances where tokusatsu became big on a global scale? Know of another toku-inspired fan series? Share here! |

Well I suppose mostly before Power Rangers the Japanese side was getting pretty big, like Bioman was shown in loads and loads of countries including France where it got popular enough that some other shows were dubbed but bizarrely despite the situation in France, the UK never even showed the slightest bit of interest or knowledge of anything!
Since most countries went over to Power Rangers when that came along (I'm pretty sure that the only country that has since gone back to Sentai was of course South Korea!) Japanese tokusatsu has kind of tapered off but I do occasionally find out something recent has still weirdly popped up in a place you wouldn't expect, like Brazil actually dubbed Ryukendo(I know)! |
