This, Ladies and Gentlemen, is what we've been waiting for. The return of the one redeeming character (Aside from Metal Alice) from Super Megaforce.. Vrak Returns!
Veker's been destroyed, the Armada is in turmoil without a leader, but.. Vrak has Returned! And beside him is A reprogrammed RoboKnight! And he has a plan. Drills, places around the world, to bore into the center of the Earth and destroy it forever! It's time to go Super Mega... Uh Oh...

SPOILER
This clip gives me hope. Because they actually explain why they can't access Super Mega powers to take down Vrak. And why Orion isn't there to help. It's like they actually gave a crap this time. |

It was cool to see them go back to Goseiger/Megaforce, even though it's only temporary. And it was awesome seeing Robo Knight again, albeit corrupted (As I mentioned, he's one of my most favorite Rangers), but it would've been cool to see Super Mega/Legendary Ranger Mode try to take on Vrak's final form. (Obviously, being Goseiger, wasn't gonna happen...)
But the episode was pretty cool. Can't wait for Part 2. One question about Vrak's master plan: Didn't Serrator already try the “Split the world open and destroy it” plan back in Super Samurai? I remember him going behind Master Xandred's back while he was recovering from injuries to attempt to do so, and he was trying to use Deker to finish the job, bribing Deker by promising to repair Urumasa in exchange for it, then when Serrator finally did fix Deker's sword, Deker double-crossed him.

i feel bad for the kids that are watching this with their super megaforce gear only they are using the megaforce stuff instead, talk about poor writing.
this episode would have worked in megaforce or they could have just used basco's monster form for vrak and with him using the trumpet summoning the keys etc. they should have used a super megaforce element on vrak and not going back to megaforce, especially when the marketing geared towards super megaforce, especially when the kids have the megaforce stuff in storage thinking it will never be used again, big mistake on the writers. This didn't have a terrible feel to it, but like so much these days, it drags at the episodes most crucial moments. Introducing Vrak's true form and showing the drill to start was a touchy moment as it showed that Vrak was still active and still had surprises in play, but it seems awkward for some who know Vrak but aren't familiar with his "true form". The mass public noticing of the drills was a nicely detailed touch, but it feels erroneous and I'll tell you why in just a second. The reintroduction was nothing short of exposition with a little action to spice. They reused some of the Goseiger footage already allowed in Megaforce, but this time they went a little further by explaining why Vrak can mirror their own techniques. Some of the harsher battle scenes from Goseiger were cut in favor of less harsher fighting styles (cutting choke holds like in the old days), but this is a tad confusing as they continually allowed choke holds later in the episode. Also, holding the minature Lion Mechazord Headder before Robo Knight's corruption was complete seems like a mistake. The two unused Goseiger Headder monsters are a nice touch despite the switch from Gokaiger, but it leaves no explanation as to how the first drill was formed to begin with (another cut Goseiger monster). Having Noah battle Vrak makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and feels terribly random. Couldn't this episode have seen more of a Noah-focus to better justify the battle? He could've been the one who first detected the first drill or even Robo Knight's internal signal or even noted the effect Orion's abduction had on the Ranger Keys! Also, shouldn't Gosei have noticed that Orion was taken to begin with? And like with Megaforce, the Goseiger "giant card" effects are left unedited (long time no see, Seaick Gosei Great). This was average-to-good on its best day. There is so much lost potential here that it's almost sickening.

I voted great on a Super Megaforce episode based on the fact it had nearly nothing to do with Super Megaforce. This episode reminded me how good Megaforce was before Super came along and brought out our collective fan-rage. Megaforce, for all it's flaws, was much better than what came after with this season. There were no teams that didn't exist in Power Rangers before, there were no strange moments of Jake trying to fit Doc's mannerisms. Or Noah becoming, out of nowhere, this master swordsman. It was just.. great, it really was. There were some problems, sure. Like Gia losing three inches of height mysteriously each time she morphs. But that's just my OCD. But damn the rest of this episode was good. Especially the new footage with Vrak back in the underwater base. I'm surprised they showed him torturing RoboKnight though. It wasn't graphic or anything, and in the show he is supossed to be a robot, but still. I thought he just would've reappeared with Vrak saying he was reprogrammed and then be done with it. And it was really nice seeing the old Gosei Great again. I missed that thing. Shame that after next week we're stuck back with Super again. And the oncoming suck that will be the 'Legendary' war. Or "JDF's Ego-Wank War" As I'm now calling it.

Vrak kidnaps Orion but we never actually see him? Ugh... Dark Roboknight does look pretty cool. How does Vrak do anything that affects items inside the command chamber(the keys are strone)? arent they suppose to be a protected area...
OMG they remembered they have Ultra Mode.... Why are they unable to use they skyship? there was no indication I was aware of that it could only be used by the super mega powers.... Okay it really wasnt too bad an episode but REALLY belonged at the end of the Megaforce run, not in the middle of Super Mega... |

So while the keys are indeed in a protected area, the power running through them wasn't.

Ah, that does make sense. Still has poor timing. Too little too late...I dont give a crap about Vrak anymore, I have forgotten all about RoboKnight...essentially the mindset of the primary audience

Yeah, I completely agree. Its a massive shame because this 2-parter is probably the best thing in Super Megaforce as well, but its placement just prevents it from having the impact it should.
