You're not wrong, considering TRU tended to have a store only in more sizeable cities (the town I grew up in took five years from the time I moved there to the time TRU put in a store to have one in driving distance; the others were an hour away in either direction), but there's something to be said for brand name power. Going to TRU was an event for me when I was younger- I didn't go in without getting to come out with *something*.
I actually associate TRU mostly with a game show called "Super Toy Club", where the winner team would get the chance to put all the items they wanted in a cart while running through TRU within a certain time limit. They were allowed to keep those items, of course. They actually picked that show up again after it ended its original airing in the early 2000s, so I wonder how that will go regarding TRUs bankruptcy? |

Well, that's interesting. It might be very possible that TRU will survive in other countries as well.

I heard from someone I know in my trus that most stores will close down by middle of April. I have not bought a toy from there since legacy inspace figures.

Would be funny if a bunch of grown-ups went there to not buy toys but stuff like their cash registers, labeling tools, office goods, etc. you know, practical stuff
Jokes aside though, sucks that people will lose jobs due to stores closing down.

I wonder if the French branch is concerned by this...
But to be frank, the French Branch doesn't offer anything interesting anymore... It's been ten years that the French Branch has been out of date... Well, it's the end of an era I guess... |

Unless it is public I guess there is still hope? From what I gather the closing of all US stores doesnt directly mean that all other TRUs around the world will follow suit. Maybe some will eventually but I can see some either be rebranded or just maintained cause business is as usual and they are doing well for themselves regardless of TRU America's situation.
