Loved Nexus, it's what really got me obsessed with UltraMan. I watched the movie half way through the series I thought it helped there.

What did you guys think of the latest Ultraman Orb??? It was a tribute to Episode 28 of Gaia.

Episode 3 was another interesting episode. Even if the SSP side of things feel a little more on the comedic side than the last couple of episodes. Then again given the story of the episodes it make a sense for it to have a little more comedy. Again, talking about an effect shot, I love it when the shoot things to give the monster and battle a sense of scale. although it did answer the question I had on if Gai would just straight into Burnmight (Burnmite?) or form change somehow. On a side not I wonder when we'll see another VTOL member outside the girl's Uncle.

Marathoned up to episode 4 and Ishiguro sure has a lot of Hayakawa swagger going on alongside some extra dose of humor.
I love the ssp trio and love that they are ditching the retsuden format and going standalone. Guess they managed to acquire quite the budget this time as well given that Ishiguro has become as prolific as Sato post-Den-O.

He is still young but he has at least a decade of acting to back him up as well so I am satisfied with the acting.

TV-Nihon has done a couple of releases for Ultraman's 50th anniversary so I finally got to see a movie I've wanted to see for years now: Superior 8 Ultra Brothers (or however you want to translate the title). I think the big transformation scene from this was possibly the first Ultra anything I'd ever seen, back around the time I was first getting into tokusatsu - I'm not even sure if I'd seen Decade yet. I was really impressed by how many of the original actors came back to reprise their roles, even though I really couldn't tell you who any of them were. I actually still haven't seen most of these shows, but I know enough now to really get most of the references.
As for the movie itself, I freaking loved it. All of the returning actors did a great job and I really want to see more of their original shows, especially Return and Dyna, which I've seen nothing from so far. I really liked that Daigo and Rena were such important characters, but having so many supporting characters from all of these shows was also cool (I've been watching Gaia recently, so the cameos at the end totally clicked for me). The plot was also a lot of fun and the moment when they started remembering their other lives was a brilliant pay-off to all the build up. I really loved the whole thing and would recommend it to any Ultra fan. |

Just putting this here if that's alright. The information is from Jorge from Tokusatsu Network, guy put a link to his twitter page in his poat. http://forums.henshinjustice.com/sho...re-Productions
If this is true Ultra fans are going to be pretty happy for the next couple of years. |

Exciting! I'm happy that Ultraman seems to be doing well for itself lately.
I've been sick all weekend so I watched some goddamn Ultraman - The Ginga S movie, Tiga the Final Odyssey and Orb. Those are some fun movies. Worth watching but they both take place after their respective TV series so you should probably watch the series' first. |
