I think Kamen Rider Geats might be going for a moral similar to Over Quartzer. The past to us was someone else's present. It matters to them. It matters to the Riders willing to risk their lives for their desires. But from a perfect future, the DGP staff and sponsors were forced to turn to the gritty present/past for their entertainment.
They're further proof that "world peace" is truly unsustainable, as humans' sadistic side can't be content unless someone else is suffering. And a little sadism is healthy, it's necessary for human development. However, it becomes a problem when the future people are imposing that on the present/past. Beroba's an enjoyable villain. She pretty much wants to watch the world burn, literally in the case of Jyamar Garden. Even her fellow sponsors think she's dangerous. I mean, the Jyamato sponsor just murdered all the Jyamatos on a whim, with a finisher as destructive as Rising Mighty's nuclear kick. Archimedel should probably fire her. Her Rider form is giant! I don't know why it's giant, but it's awesome! She's clearly a villain with no redeeming qualities, but maybe in a karmic way, she's the villain the future people deserve. They wanted to bring chaos to the world, well now they have it. Ziin's still shady, I don't trust him either, but he seems to genuinely enjoy the gratification of seeing people fight to overcome their suffering, which makes him especially drawn to Ace's quest for his impossible desire. Much like how we as fans of Kamen Rider want to cheer for our heroes against increasingly difficult battles. Their suffering may be a part of our entertainment, but so are their victories and their desires. Na-Go rolled a Fever Beat on her first try. Hmm, I suspect her sponsor, that Kyuun guy, probably rigged the Raise Buckle. If it was Tycoon, then I'd simply dismiss it as his luck stat bonus, but for Na-Go, seems a little too convenient to not be rigged. I wonder if sponsors have to pay extra for those power-ups. Now that we know the origin of the DGP, I have some new theories. I speculate that Ace, the Sakurai siblings, Neon and Win are all descendants of the future. All five main Riders except Michinaga. This would explain why Ace's desire to see Mitsume got rejected and why the Sakurai parents stayed dead. Their existence is a spoiler for the truth about the DGP. Maybe having kids in their past caused them to become too emotionally attached to that era, forcing the DGP to cut them loose for the sake of preserving the entertainment. I thought I saw Matsuda Kenji in the next time preview, but nope, turns out it was someone else. Kind of disappointed.

Watched the last two episodes. Well, they were good. Beautiful fights, drama between the characters (even though Ace still doesn't have a personality as such), revealing secrets, going beyond the DGP. I think Neon's sponsor is the same dissatisfied subscriber from the restaurant, he looked and spoke too strangely. It seems that even in the game of survival, her parents do not support her. As for the disclosure of the origin of viewers and admins, it is not bad. Another thing is that it doesn't really change anything, as you can see from the reactions of Buffa and Nudge. Although Keiwa should obviously be pissed when he finds out the whole truth. Name riders from the future are good in their abilities, but not particularly interesting.
I wonder if the show will now switch to fighting between different factions and forget about the show, or will our riders just have their memory erased and sent to the next game? |

Not the end of the arc yet (or perhaps SP would be), but with more reveals than ep. 16.
I guess now there's a better picture on how Beroba can be a big trouble for people like Niram. Beroba seems to be the current big bad, not just a mere supporter who backs up major characters (in this case Michinaga and Daichi, or also Archimedel previously), she's the bigger player than them or anyone on the bad side. Though of course, Niram doesn't go down without a fight in him essentially applying 2FA regarding Goddess of Creation's wish granting, making Beroba's "victory" useless for now, as Beroba's not the first. Seems a direct reveal too that Goddess of Creation is the one who grants the wishes of the DGP winners, with Beroba carrying the Desire Card towards her. But later parts display Niram and the other DGP staffs losing their cool over Beroba's actions. In contrast to her though, people like Buffa and Nadge-Sparrow are getting worfed by Ziin, who has an ability to alter gravity of his opponents. So supporter Riders like Ziin is leagues above the DGP Riders, but wonder if it'd be above Glare2 too with how Ziin is confident in trying to stop Beroba previously after she effortlessly beat Glare2. Albeit it doesn't matter for Beroba as she already got the Vision Driver, so there are never proper showing between the 2 yet. Archimedel is portrayed more sympathetically here in how he grows his Jamatos with heart and wants to make a world where they can be happy due to the admin's abuse of them, similar to Parado and Horobi, but it turns him into an invader to humanity. Unfortunately for him, Beroba decides to destroy the Jamar Garden, highlighting her sadism further to even turn on her allies, with Archimedel genuinely begging her to not destroy his hard work. So the reveal here is that Jamar Garden is made up from the destroyed DGP areas. So there are likely many of them, and shows clear consequences of Riders' failure in the games. Beroba's Rider form, as teased in the previous episode, is something huge like Suika Arms, Time Mazine, or Breaking Mammoth. So Geats currently is running on size equals superiority, in how Glare2 got really scared off by her due to this. Beroba is clear the strongest Rider outside of likely Gazer not only in her easily beating Glare2 but also in her possessing the power to destroy whole area. Kuuga's nuke-level feat is back here, done by the main baddie. Niram here becomes more standoffish and unpleasant due to the current situation, with him really threatening Chirami, and brushing off Keiwa's questions about the DGP, similar to Girori's reaction to Tsumuri's suggestion. At the end, he becomes very no-nonsense to just get the Riders to get back the Vision Driver. Samas is shown to be another one who really wants to keep the DGP's secrets to the point of resorting to slapping those who violate it like Chirami. Yeah, the slapstick here is delivered by an actually despicable woman. Ironically, here Chirami also seems to be portrayed a bit more sympathetically, where he tries to explain to the Riders what's going on, like what Tsumuri suggested in ep. 15. Tsumuri seems to be the one who wants to preserve the main cast's world the most, with her reaction at Beroba's attack in the end and once again confronting the Game Master about Nadge-Sparrow's ID Core ending up on Beroba's hands. Though the DGP staff doesn't reveal much to the Riders, Ace still manages to use their behavior to make a conclusion that the staff are from the future, and that there are varied past worlds used as a setting for the DGP, like Sengoku period (is that the one referenced here due to Ryoma Sengoku?). About the series' likely new direction, Geats seem to have even more Gaim vibes that, the series moves past the games, to an actual war about retrieving an omnipotent power, in Goddess of Creation here, with stakes not only involving the Jamar Area (with minimized consequences due to DGP returning civilians), but likely much more due to Beroba's sheer vileness and threat. I'm now a bit skeptical though about possible time travelling shenanigans regarding the DGP staff and supporters, as when handled poorly it can make the series as a whole a mess, like Zi-O. Other than that, now there's more revealed about Ziin outside of his fanboying of Ace. He seems to be the "good" version of Beroba, as he too, finds entertainment in DGP's battles, shown in him getting hyped up over Geats' battles with Buffa. But he's content with being a spectator, following what his role is supposed to be (other than them being able to rig games too with their missions), while Beroba wants something more thus she interferes without regard of anyone. Like what others asked, I wonder how boring the future can be for them to resort into doing this for entertainment. For the other supporters, Kekera now acknowledges Keiwa's strengths to believe that he can change the world as a true Kamen Rider. That's needed to show why he supports him despite chewing him out several times previously, or that being from the future means he knows the outcomes. While Kyuun writes a sweet letter for Neon to ensure that she'd have someone who's on her side no matter what. I only wonder how'd Neon react when that letter is written by the rude man she encountered before, and what's actually Kyuun's deal with the contrast between his behavior and the letter. The Riders here get Boost and Feverslot respectively, so those are viewed as equal at least since ep. 21. With the DezaStar stuff (overall game) out of the way, Keiwa and Neon are back into being fighting partners. Hope it'd be touched upon later though. Tycoon claims that Na-Go is getting stronger, but well... it happens after an episode where she performs very poorly as the DezaStar (of which previously it's established that she's not careless, just Chirami doing it for the lulz), the very thing that made Keiwa able to figure out she's one. I know it's about fighting ability but still. Tycoon claiming that they're becoming more Kamen Rider-like seems to be a meta reaction about Geats' direction change, that now the Rider powers aren't used for a game anymore. At the end they're pitted against Nadge-Sparrow, it's the showdown between the Riders who outwitted Game Masters, Girori and Chirami respectively. Michinaga now uses both Zombie and Jamato Buckles, and Ace only uses Magnum, instead of Boost Magnum. Their fight just displays Geats' superiority of keeping up with the upgraded Buffa, and Geats only loses due to being caught off-guard. So Buffa doesn't look better than Tycoon in fighting Geats. Michinaga claims that now he's hunting all the Riders not out of vengeance, but out of a mission to end a world where the Riders can get their wish. Geats also displays his fighting capabilities by using the environment to his advantage, and Ziin can support him by giving him a board to ride on. Same actions but different reasoning. Other than that, finally Feverslot is used again, with Na-Go getting Beat. Then I wonder why it was so rarely used before Lopo uses it. Ninja on bottom would have the Rider's kicks have slash effect, and Tycoon using the Revolve On to free himself from the vines is also a good tactical move. Na-Go makes more use of hand-to-hand combat by flipping the enemy with her thighs.

There've been some terrific Kamen Rider series since I started watching it, but so far, Geats is the best of them. It continues to feel like mid-series Gaim in the sense that anything can happen, and that what we're watching is not a normal Rider show. Speaking of Gaim, this episode casually dropping mention of the Sengoku period is probably the show's most obvious nod to Gaim yet, and we JUST got done with a storyline involving people being attacked with fruit.
Part of what I'm enjoying is that so far, the big revelations all make sense and build on things we've learned so far. I hope the show can keep it up. I'm nervous that we'll eventually get to a totally nonsensical twist, but maybe, just maybe we won't. Did Beroba destroy only the Jamar Garden, or the entire world, 'cause it kind of seemed like the latter. It also looks like Ziin escaped with Ace. I'm curious to see whether the Gardener survived, because it sure looks like he didn't. I think we can safely assume most of our cast will make it to the next iteration of the world. Since we just learned that our time-traveling audience has set the game in different eras (thus making the otherwise-bizarre "Ace is from ancient Rome" theory seem more likely), I'm wondering if our next round of the DGP will feature a young Keilow just for the sass value. Beroba suddenly whipping out the Laser Raise Riser made me wonder whether she stole it off Ziin, but apparently, there's more than one of them. I'm now wondering whether all the supporters have them, and if they're connected to their ability to travel between realities. I didn't catch that Kyuun was the grumpy character we encountered in the previous episode. What's his deal, and why did he decline to actually meet with Neon? (Also, UGH, I hope he's not her eventual love interest, because I'm pulling for Keiwa.) Where is the show going next? If Beroba seems to be our primary villain for the moment, is anyone else going to be able to steal the producer's driver back from her? It still seems like the narrative arc of the show seems to be about our hero Riders working to end the DGP. I guess we'll get a better sense if any of our audience members bust out a kaijin form. I'm glad that stuff isn't being telegraphed. The Fever Slot buckle giving Neon her Beat form was so anticlimactic I have to wonder if it was intended to be a joke. I guess Monster is the default form for misc_hostile-Rider. I'm hoping the show, in its next phase, expands on the "Culling" thought from a few episodes ago. We already know the DGP is monstrous, but it's probably worth revisiting that there's a large swath of players intended to die early on to fuel building Jyamato. Ooh, speaking of that, I sure hope that doesn't mean we've seen the last of previously-dead DGP participants. I suppose that if the producers can get hold of their driver, they can just roll that particular thing back. |

We really need PunkJack back to help save the day now.
And we need him to reclaim Monster from Nadge-Sparrow! So far love Ziin & Beroba. |

His actor will be back, at any rate.

And also he could very well be Ace or Keiwa from the future, secretly infiltrating the DGP and using a device to change his appearance. But to me, the funniest thing is that Neon's parents don't support her. I wonder who her father is rooting for anyway? Maybe he is talking from a toad? |

Honestly, wouldn't be surprised if Neon's father was supporting Nadge-Sparrow
