One of only a very small handful of hero series to be officially released in the States, despite initial appearances Iron King is deceptively epic and quite possibly one of the best non-franchise hero shows ever made. I'm not going to go into an actual review of the show, but I highly recommend it to anyone who has any interest in 70s toku and or giant heroes.
There were two versions of the DVD set released. The original BCI release which featured a slipcase and a very informative booklet and an economy release by Mill Creek Entertainment with just the DVDs. Both are still readily available.

I'm a big fan of Iron King; it's really Senkosha's finest (along with Super Robot Red Baron).
I do wish that the networks would have picked Iron King up for another 10 episodes; it seems the series could have gone more places than it did. |

still need to finish watching this. I am still on the second disc. he needs a figuart or ultra-act. just imagine the glory of him posed with ultra seven cause of the similar design.

iron king is just an example of classic toku that rocked and having the secondary be the one to transform and not the main hero do it was brilliant. IRON SHOCK!

Funny you should mention that... Evolution Toy's Iron King has been delayed for quite a long time.
Until this past weekend.

finally finished disc 2 of my 3 disc set of Iron King. One episode of it just made my night last night and is one of my all favorite toku episodes. it was the one where Iron King and Capri-Gon fought. the way the running was speed up and the running on the grass, without even trying to make it look like small trees, just the grass on the field in some shots. funny and cool at the same time. that and this show has so much death in it.

There's a dvd set of this for like $4 on Amazon. I thought about getting it, but it's dub-only and I generally don't like watching live action shows dubbed. At $4 it might be worth it though.

its actually only subtitled. sometimes the words are a little off on timing, but its nothing too bad and really enjoyable.
