I really actually like them, the helmets might be a bit too vague on some of them but overall it feels like a pretty good evolution of the design. The quote is also making me really curious as to what the morphing sequence will look like. Also it feels like they kept the pattern/colour of the original morphing background from the 93 show for the center of the buckle on the suits.

I said it over at the other topic already, but I love how they even went with a glowing diamond on the chest armor just in case you can’t already identify these designs as Iron Man knockoffs.
And these are not really good knockoffs either; they’re hideous, way too fancy and technologically looking for a Power Ranger suit. Less would’ve been more here IMO. |

I like them a lot. Unless you're Spider-Man it seems going straight spandex is considered a bad move these days so this is a nice compromise. Lots of colour and a techno-organic look works for me given the techno-organic basis of the powers.
Comparing them to the reboot robocop doesn't really paint them unfavourably IMO - the black suit in that film looked fine about from the naked hand, it was only people's nostalgia to the original that caused a problem. They could perhaps do without the chest glow, but with the weird off-placement on them all I can't tell if its genuinely a glow or supposed to be a reflection. Something DOES look off about the helmets, but the picture isn't the best so I'll withhold judgement on that right now.

They feel too much like an Iron man suit to me, rather than something a ranger would wear.
I know the skin tight suits from the show would be seen as "ridiculous" for a movie, but Spider-man's gotten away with having low-tech looking suits, and even Falcon in the Cap movies comes away with something that feels like a costume he'd wear. I guess is they were just 25% less armor looking I'd be okay with it, but I don't flat out hate the suits.

I like them. Chances are, the chest pieces are the only bits that will be real. The rest will be CGI...otherwise, I can't imagine trying to do kung fu in those if they were real latex.
But Rita's costume is real...so maybe they've found a way... |

The only part I'm getting an Iron Man vibe is from the smaller diamond and the Red Rangers colors but then again he's the red ranger and Iron Man has a crap ton of suits so at some point your gonna get some color overlap.
Looking at the Armor I see it more as less bulky Commander Shepard armor type from Mass Effect then a full metal Iron Man suit. Also considering the quote about the suit growing I even got a bit of a wonder if they got some inspiration from the current blue beetle suit which comes from the scarab. |

That's my biggest problem with these suits: they're not spandex. Some people say that spandex doesn't translate well to film, yet MCU Spider-Man is seen wearing spandex, and not one person complains about it.

"You can’t win everyone over, but we are trying to appeal to a more mature audience and gain new fans."
This right here is why I think this movie is going to bomb. Power Rangers' target audience of 7 year olds and the existing fanbase is about all they've got. I highly doubt this movie is going to rake in the MCU/DCEU crowd. I really don't like the design work going into the movie right now. The suits are so generic "mature sci-fi" it hurts. They look like every edgy teenager's drawing of a gritty reboot of Power Rangers that I've ever seen. I can't say I'm not curious to see the Megazord, but my hopes for it being any good have kind of been dashed after these last few reveals. |

The thing with spiderman is though his extra power doesn't come from the suits which might be why people are giving it a pass. At least that's my thought as to why some people say spandex doesn't translate well for certain characters but does for others.

So instead of belts they now have glowing belly buttons. Okay.
