Mix! Jimber Lemon!
It's that time again! Time for another dose of fruit flavored goodness (this time 4 flavors!) with Kamen Rider Gaim! Today's subject is Gaim's first truly upgraded form, S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim Jinba/Jimber Arms! Though the package by default lists the figure as Jimber Lemon this figure has the ability to assume all 4 Energy Lock Seed based forms. The spelling of this forms name has been romanized in several fansubs as Jinba while the box, and therefor official spelling, opts to call it Jimber. Either is fairly acceptable. For the sake of consistency I will use Jimber throughout this review to reflect the packaging. Packaging As usual with Kamen Rider Gaim related SHF releases I don't have much to say. The packaging is pretty standard fare for the exclusive Gaim figuarts by now. Though obviously the subject here is different and a nice prominent lemon slice is featured here for Jimber's fruit cross section. Aside from pretty standard stock shots of the figure that's about it, though Jimber's box is a bit large than any of the previous Gaim S.H. Figuarts. The size difference comes from this figure having two parts trays. The top tray consisting of the relevant bits you need for his standard Jimber Lemon form. The bottom tray contains the additional accessories intended for his alternate forms. Main Figure Straight out of the box Kamen Rider Gaim Jimber Arms is pretty damn nice. I always really liked this design in show, despite the "boxy" criticisms it received I feel in translated very well to figure form. Much more so than it did as an Arms Change. This figure has some nice sharp details that simply weren't present on it's cheaper counterpart. You'll notice Jimber is primarily a reuse of the Gaim Orange Arms base body with some minor tweaks and the new Jimber Arms attached. Granted all 3 SHF Gaim releases we've gotten so far feature this identical base body, though Kachidoki has more of it covered in new armor than the other two. Either way it's the same great body you've come to expect. Even when there's tons of armor on top of it, it still has a fantastic range of motion. Perhaps only restricted somewhat at the waist and even then not by much. The lemon (or alt energy bits) are hinged on ball joints at the top of the chest so they can get out of the way quite well, though it looks quite odd at some points. Otherwise the articulation is just what you've come to expect from other Gaim releases. The sculpt is once again exquisite. Kamen Rider Gaim figuarts have thus far excelled at capturing their on screen counterparts intricate details. Jimber is no different. Though my one complaint is that the silver details on the chest aren't applied very well, out of the box there are quite a few small chips of paint missing. Another minor annoyance is the pre-attached Lemon Energy Lock Seed. It falls off if I even think about it wrong. Getting it attached again can be a pain and in the process of it I generally knock the Orange Lock Seed off every time. Accessories Much like any other Kamen Rider Gaim S.H. Figuart, Jimber Arms comes armed to the teeth with accessories. A lot of them actually: 4 - sets of alternate hands. A couple sets of splayed open hands and then two different sets of "holding things" hands to hold either version of the included weapon. 3 - open Lock Seeds. Melon, Cherry, & Peach Energy Lock Seeds Each intended to be used on the swap out Genesis Core portion of the belt next to the standard Orange Lock. Allowing you to create the 3 additional Jimber forms. Including the never (yet to be?) seen Jimber Melon Arms. Interestingly there are no closed versions of these locks included to holster on Gaim's belt. Thus ensuring you have to buy the already released Shin Zangetsu, & possible future releases of Marika & Sigurd to even get the closed ones to use with his belt. Sneaky sneaky Bandai.... 3 - sets of replacement fruit themed chest adornments. When swapping out the Energy Locks for each form you now also have the appropriate parts to recreate the accurate chest details for each form. Again, Jimber melon, Jimber Cherry, & Jimber Peach. All 3 of these are really well detailed and painted much like the Lock Seeds that accompany them. 2 - versions of the Sonic Arrow. One standard Sonic Arrow which is traditionally used like a bladed weapon. And 1 drawn back version of the Arrow ready to fire a blast. It kind of sucks that there isn't working drawback action on this toy but the Arms Change version of the weapon pulled it off at the cost of accuracy. So I can why this time they opted to give you two versions for better accuracy. As you can seen this guy is loaded down with accessories. Basically anything pertinent to this form incluing the unused Melon form we never saw. Final Thoughts S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Gaim Jimber Arms, while not the most dynamic of Gaim's forms, is still a fantastic figure. As always it's another welcome addition to any Gaim collection. As you can see bellow it's a wonderful figure that far outshines it's Arms Change counterpart in the accuracy and detail department. Though Gaim SHF's do not feature the Arms Change gimmick of their cheaper brethren Gaim Jimber Arms comes about as close to replicating the gimmick as we'll get in the SHF line.

Nice use of the MegaMan effect part! I might do that considering I have 2 of those. Also "Lemons" reference! Lol.

I actually got a Megaman that was broken a year or so ago and was never able to get a replacement. So I figured, why the hell not? It gives them some use. And they really do work pretty well.

You know, I never cared for this design much, but the figure is just gorgeous. Figures like this make it hard not to be a Gaim completionist.

Man mine scared the shit out of me when I was opening it.
First off, Gaim was in two parts. His torso fell out the box leaving his legs behind and I was like whaaaat. What was worse was that when I was trying to pop the ball back in it was really finnicky because of the second hinge on the joint. Now he's fine and looking badass as hell, though I accidentally scratched some paint off one of his form cloak bits, but a dash of silver paint will fix that.

I'll be honest, I fully expected for each variant of Jimbu to be separate figures so for once I'm glad to be wrong!
