Just saw the sub today, (watched the raw last friday) and all I can say is such an impactful ending. That sad song at the end is now stuck in my head and all I can think of is Chihiro's tragedy.
My first impression with how the final battle was shot was shocked but, as others have said it did leave a huge emotional impact for me even if we did not get to see it. My problem with the turnout is that I wished the show did a better job with how tragic Chihiro's life was. Jin's act before fighting Chihiro really completed his character and his wish after the fight really made me love his character even more. I was not satisfied with Mamo's ending as his ties to Nanaha weren't that strong. As someone stated before, Hiroki is rider material. Team X=Kamen Rider X? The cliffhanger was unnecessary imo, as it set up another arc when this arc was met with mixed reviews. I'll miss Amazons but I do with they leave the series to rest. Jin and Haruka's fate could be left to the audience. Overall this season reminded that of a shakespearean ending. You either die or left to live a scarred life. |

This was a great series. I enjoyed every bit of it. Although I never liked Chihiro or Iyu, their deaths were really. I'm glad Haruka got the chance to live since I was always fond of him. I wonder what the cliffhanger at the end means for the series.

So, with the season 2 concluded, how is everyone's opinions about Amazons season 1 and 2? Which is better?
For me, I felt that season 1's pacing and dynamic is average and it just wanted to play safe. You never get to see anything to be escalated so much in the series. The appearance of Amazon Sigma and Tlaloc Project didn't impact to the whole dynamic so much compared to Chihiro's things. The two-parter was still there and it somewhat broke the pacing a bit. You don't get the sense of climax until the last minute. For season 2, the dynamic and the pacing had up and down but it really kicks gear when it's time to get really serious and reaching the climax. You could clearly see that it was a bit dull and boring with Chihiro and Iyu in the beginning but ever since Jin appeared again and Chihiro's break out, things were never the same anymore. Unlike in season 1, the last 5 episodes of season 2 were dedicated just for Chihiro's extermination and you could feel the climax and the heavier plot there. Overall, I actually like season 2 a lot ore than season 1. Chihiro really grows on me and it's so heartbreaking seeing him getting so many sh*** in the series. I do hope that Haruka and the Extermination Team were more relevant because them and Mamoru didn't take so many major actions until the last brink. Season 1 is good in its own way but it feels flat sometimes and it plays too safely. Season 2 while can be going up and down in hill, it's a pretty satisfying series. Still, the finale is a bit disappointment but I don't really want to see Chihiro and Iyu's corpses.

^I think I enjoyed season 1 more mainly because Amazons was a new concept at the time which made it more exciting but with season 2 there were stuff we've already seen so it didn't have the same excitement.

^Yeah, back in season 1, Amazons was a punch to the Rider series, especially due to the sister series was Ghost, which was pretty mediocre at best. I think the fanfare for season 2 was died down a little bit since Ex-Aid is actually a pretty good series to begin with. However, I do think that Season 2 is much better at setting the end and the climax which season 1 failed to accomplish with. There's little events that actually effected season 1 as a whole, even with the Tlaloc Project. In season 2, ever since Jin appeared and Chihiro's true nature was revealed, it really changed the tone for the whole series. It was pretty lighter thanks to Chihiro's attempts to reach Iyu but it changed drastically for the last half of the series. I think if they have more episodes, they could dig it even more.

I honestly hope they do a new series that continues the story somewhat. Also it is hard to believe Chihiro is dead.
